On the afternoon of September 22, the Vietnamese futsal team had an explosive start against host China in the 2026 Asian futsal qualifiers.
A dream start against China as Vietnam quickly dominated the game right from the opening whistle. In the second minute, Diego Giustozzi’s team opened the scoring, before Ngoc Anh scored twice in just three minutes, increasing the gap to 3-0.
By the 6th minute, Vietnam futsal completely controlled the match with proactive play and solid coordination. Meanwhile, China tried to organize attacks but their coordination was disjointed and lacked sharpness, so they were easily neutralized by Vietnam's defense.
In the 10th minute, Da Hai overcame the opponent's defender and made a beautiful shot to increase the score to 4-0. In the 16th minute, Ngoc Anh made an accurate pass for Thinh Phat to tap the ball into the net from close range, bringing Vietnam to a 5-0 lead.
Leading with a safe gap, the Vietnamese futsal team maintained pressure, calmly deployed the ball and waited for the opportunity to take advantage of the opponent's mistakes. In the 22nd minute, Da Hai had a good chance but the Chinese goalkeeper promptly saved it.
In the following minutes, China began to coordinate more smoothly but still could not exploit the gaps in front of the Vietnamese defense.
In the 33rd minute, Thinh Phat accurately placed the ball into an empty net, raising the score to 6-0 in the context of China having to play with one less player after a foul on Duc Hoa. Just one minute later, the striker born in 1997 completed his hat-trick with a close-angle shot, raising the score to 7-0.
Before the end of the match, China promptly scored 2 goals to reduce the gap to 2-7. This victory helped the Vietnamese futsal team rise to the top of Group E with 2 wins. Because in the early match, Lebanon was held to a 1-1 draw by Hong Kong (China) and only had 4 points after the match.
