Chi Lang Power Company (responsible for the area of 6 communes: Chi Lang, Nhan Ly, Quan Son, Chien Thang, Van Linh, Bang Mac) manages 292.5km of 35kV power lines, over 625km of low-voltage power lines, and 168 distribution substations with a total capacity of 33,465kVA. In the first months of 2026, there were times when power losses on the grid managed by the unit decreased compared to the same period in 2025, but did not meet the target set by the company (in the first quarter of 2026, the power loss rate on the power system managed by Chi Lang Power Company was 4.72%, a decrease of 0.04% compared to the same period in 2025, but still 0.52% higher than the plan assigned for 2026).
Mr. Ngo Quang Duc, Deputy Head of Chi Lang Power Company, shared: "To strive to achieve the target of 4.2% electricity loss by the end of 2026, the unit will continue to comprehensively review the power grid and rectify defects on the grid to reduce the loss rate; adjust the operation of the power grid to suit the capacitor bank;..."
Similar to Chi Lang Power Company, eight other power companies under the corporation are also focusing on measures to reduce power losses.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Viet, Head of the Technical Department of Lang Son Power Company, said: To reduce power losses on the managed power grid, the technical department and power companies are coordinating and maintaining monitoring, recording loss indicators three times a month to identify and promptly detect areas with sudden increases in losses.
Specifically, the units continued to focus on accelerating the construction and renovation progress of projects belonging to the 110kV power grid, medium-voltage and low-voltage power grids; using unmanned aerial vehicles to detect and address defects on the power grid; conducting inspections of meters at distribution substations immediately after each storm and thunderstorm to promptly address issues and prevent power loss;...
To ensure that the loss rate meets the target by the end of 2026, the leadership of Lang Son Power Company has directed specialized departments to coordinate with power companies to regularly analyze data related to power losses. This will allow them to accurately identify the causes and find reasonable solutions to reduce losses.
Accordingly, the power sector will thoroughly apply remote metering methods to detect abnormalities in operation and metering management for timely handling; monitor each section of 100kV lines, medium-voltage and low-voltage lines, and distribution substations; review and rearrange the capacity of transformers to optimize loss reduction; and immediately put into operation and exploit 101 substations built to prevent overload (expected in early June 2026).
With the solutions being implemented, Lang Son Power Company is determined to reduce power losses to meet the set targets, thereby contributing to improving the quality of electricity services for customers in the area.
