Pilot inspection of food safety in 9 provinces and cities ends

The Government has just issued a Resolution on ending the pilot implementation of specialized food safety inspections in 9 provinces and centrally-run cities.

After the end of the pilot food safety inspection, the inspection and handling of food safety violations in Thanh Hoa province are still being carried out seriously, meeting the requirements of state management of food safety in the area.

Resolution 85 clearly states that the pilot implementation of specialized food safety inspections in districts, towns, and cities of 9 provinces and centrally run cities including Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Dong Nai, Gia Lai and Da Nang City has been completed according to Resolution No. 102 of the Government on the pilot implementation of specialized food safety inspections in districts, towns, and cities of 9 provinces and centrally run cities.

After the pilot period, the Ministry of Health will preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to conduct the pilot, summarize, evaluate and report to the Government.

It is known that, to implement the pilot task of specialized food safety inspection in the area, Thanh Hoa province has selected 6 district-level administrative units and 30 commune-level administrative units, assigning 120 civil servants and public employees to participate.

After completing the pilot implementation of specialized food safety inspection, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities continue to fully implement the responsibility of state management of food safety in the management area; strictly implement the regulations on assignment and decentralization of food safety management, regulations on food safety inspection according to the Food Safety Law and related legal documents of ministries, branches and provincial People's Committees. Annually, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, People's Committees of communes, wards and towns all issue and implement inspection plans for food production and trading establishments in the area according to the management decentralization. After completing the pilot implementation of specialized food safety inspection, food safety inspection at district and commune levels is still maintained and implemented regularly, the handling of food safety violations is carried out seriously, ensuring strictness, meeting the requirements of state management of food safety in the area.
