The "Independence" themed stop at Lang Co railway station connecting Hue and Da Nang features unusual decorations that surprise train passengers.

In recent days, passengers traveling on the North-South train have been surprised when the train stops at Lang Co railway station.

Many passengers mistakenly believe that the Lang Co train station has been renovated.

However, this is a stop on the Revolution Express steam train restoration project (Indochina Railway Tourism Service Joint Stock Company).

The restaurant, themed around the independent theme, is located at Lang Co Station, one of the three stops on the Revolution Express steam train.

The project is expected to restore two steam locomotives manufactured in the 1960s to operate tourist trains between Da Nang and Hue stations by 2025.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Uyen, manager of the restaurant at Lang Co train station, said that the Revolution Express steam train project aims to become a tourism product in Central Vietnam.

According to the program design, in addition to tourists riding a steam train through the attractive mountain pass, the highlight of this journey is that tourists will experience themed meals at three stations along the route: Kim Lien (Da Nang), Lang Co and Hue (Thua Thien Hue province).

Each station will have its own menu and entertainment schedule to welcome passengers from Revolution Express.

The stations are themed around three historical periods: Hue station has a royal and imperial theme, Kim Lien station has a colonial theme, and Lang Co station has an independent theme, helping travelers journey back in time on their trip.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , after opening, this rest stop has also attracted the attention of railway passengers because of its fresh space and attractive design.

However, because the stop at this station is quite short (except for the "Connecting Central Vietnam Heritage" tourist train), visitors mainly come to take photos and buy souvenirs.

Mr. Ho Dac Duc, a passenger on the Central Vietnam Heritage Connection train, said that the stopover point offered a fresh and different atmosphere compared to traditional stations.

In particular, the decorations feature themes that reflect the glorious historical periods of the country.

At the same time, there is an expectation that more train tourism products will be introduced through Hai Van Pass to create more appeal for tourists.

"I think this decoration brings the atmosphere of the country's historical periods, which can help foreigners understand some of Vietnam 's values. If there were more new products on the train as well as at the stops, the railway industry would also attract tourists," said Mr. Duc.
