Customers complain about "moldy meat" in bread

Customer TT - the poster, said: Around 8pm on February 8, Mr. T. went to the NH sandwich shop and bought a mixed sandwich. When he brought it home, he found a piece of black meat inside the sandwich.

"When I opened the sandwich, the moldy meat was carefully hidden in the innermost corner of the sandwich, folded in half to hide the mold! It was horrible! I'm posting this so that everyone who goes to eat here can avoid this restaurant," diner T. shared on social media.

Talking to reporters, Mr. T. said: "This is the first time I have eaten bread at this shop. When I arrived, there were two people eating there. I bought a mixed bread for 30,000 VND and took the bread home, eating it at 10 pm that same night." According to Mr. T., when he had eaten half of the bread, he saw a piece of meat with an unusual black color, so he opened the bread to check.

Mr. T. was upset so he took a photo of the black meat and posted it on social media accusing the restaurant of "unethical business practices".

Mr. T. said that when he bought the restaurant, there was no invoice. Mr. T. paid via QR code. "If the authorities get involved, I am willing to provide photos of the payment at the restaurant," Mr. T. affirmed.

"We have not received any complaints, we are still selling as usual"

On the morning of February 9, answering VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Dong - owner of NH sandwich shop said that the shop is still operating normally.

"We have not received any calls from customers complaining about moldy meat in their bread. On the evening of February 8, we sold until midnight and reopened this morning, with a stable number of customers.

I read the article shared on social media. I feel a bit uncomfortable. If a customer buys my bread and has a piece of meat like that, with full evidence, I am ready to take responsibility," said Mr. Dong.

"I think consumers will be alert when receiving information. If the meat is moldy, the surrounding area will also be green and moldy. As in the photo, the surrounding area of the meat is pink and fresh, which is unreasonable. In the current cold weather, it is even more difficult to have moldy meat.

In addition, if there is really a piece of meat that is spoiled or dirty, a seller like me will throw it away immediately because its value is not high. I have no reason to hide the meat in the cake to affect my reputation and cause harm to my business," Mr. Dong added.

According to Mr. Dong, he commented on diner T.'s post but it was not approved for display.

This sandwich shop has been open for many years in Quan Thanh and has a large, stable customer base.

The leader of Quan Thanh Ward People's Committee said that he had received information about the incident and was verifying and clarifying the information spreading on social networks.

After enjoying a sandwich with beef and cheese at a shop in Hanoi, a foreign female tourist said it was "not special". The video sharing her feelings received many mixed reactions.
