Ly Khanh Linh (26 years old, an international student in Shanghai), came to Chi Pu's restaurant on the opening day to enjoy and experience Vietnamese pho.
The pho restaurant is located in one of the famous neighborhoods in Jing'an District, Shanghai, and is called "La Ganh". According to Khanh Linh, the pho restaurant is easy to find. Inside the restaurant, there is a long row of tables with about a dozen chairs, which reminds many people of a Japanese restaurant. The space of the restaurant is not too large but creates a cozy feeling.
Linh said she came on the opening day so the restaurant was quite crowded. Linh ordered a combo including water, pho and fried dough sticks, the promotional price was 59 yuan (over 200,000 VND). It is known that the original price of this combo was 90 yuan (over 300,000 VND). Currently, the restaurant's menu only includes one pho dish, two side dishes: poached egg and fried dough sticks, and the main drink is lotus tea.

"Unlike other pho restaurants in Shanghai that are cooked in the Southern style, the female artist's restaurant is cooked in the Northern style. In general, the broth is cooked with a lot of fat to suit local tastes, the noodles are soft enough, with a lot of beef, but the flavor is not too special, the broth is quite salty," Linh commented.
With the price of 200,000 VND for a bowl of pho, many people feel it is expensive. However, according to Linh, compared to the price in Shanghai, it is not too high, quite reasonable. What impressed her most when coming to Chi Pu's pho restaurant was the enthusiasm of the staff, whether Vietnamese or Chinese customers, they were introduced very carefully about Vietnamese food and culture.
"I feel the space is a bit small. The staff said the restaurant was renovated from a bar. The day I went to eat, I went with 3 Vietnamese friends, each of us had different feelings, in my opinion it was okay, worth enjoying," Linh added.
Arriving in China on the occasion of the pho restaurant's opening, Vie Tran (born in 1990, living in Hanoi ) stopped by the pho restaurant to support Chi Pu. Vie Tran shared: "After 3-4 days of eating spicy, fatty Chinese food, that day, I got to enjoy Vietnamese pho, and I found it very delicious. The flavors were quite harmonious, however, the pho noodles were thicker than the pho noodles usually used in Vietnam. The broth, to my liking, was the standard Hanoi pho flavor, and the beef in the bowl was quite full."
"At first glance, pho is served in a tall bowl, with white rice noodles. In addition to well-done and rare beef, the bowl of pho also has a piece of beef in red wine sauce. In addition to fried dough sticks, the restaurant also serves poached eggs. The seasoning is also kept original with garlic vinegar, fresh chili and chili sauce, very similar to Vietnam," Vie Tran added.
Many Vietnamese customers also came here to support the Vietnamese female artist. Some customers expressed that the pho of the restaurant was not really special, the pho broth was salty. However, most of them praised the restaurant, although newly opened, it was very neat and professional.
