The 2025 National MMA Club Cup attracted more than 160 athletes and coaches from 24 units, from 14 provinces and cities across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Dao Gia Bao, Permanent Vice President of VMMAF, affirmed that the 2025 National MMA Club Cup, organized for the first time within the national competition system, is a major turning point, affirming the increasingly clear position of this sport in Vietnam.
“Since being officially recognized in Vietnam, MMA, with its unique combination of martial arts, wrestling, etc., has quickly attracted the attention of young people, coaches, athletes, and martial arts lovers across the country. And today's tournament is the clearest proof of the strong vitality and great development potential of this sport,” Major General Dao Gia Bao shared.
Following the opening ceremony, athletes entered the evening competition in the over-18 age groups, after the first competition in the 16-18 age group had begun in the afternoon.
The 2025 National MMA Club Cup will take place continuously from today (July 17) to July 20. The tournament organizers will award 24 sets of medals to athletes and delegations with high achievements.
The tournament is not only an opportunity for athletes to show their talents, but also a playground for exchange, learning, spreading the spirit of martial arts, honesty and dedication. At the same time, the tournament is also a step forward to make MMA an official sport in the investment and training system of provincial, municipal and industry units.
