Opening of the 4th Central Conference of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China

The conference reviewed and approved opinions related to the 15th Five-Year Plan, after which the State Council will complete the compilation to put it to a vote at the "Two Sessions" meeting, scheduled to be held in March 2026.

According to VNA correspondent in China, on the morning of October 20, the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (the 4th Central Committee Plenum of the 20th tenure) opened in Beijing.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, on behalf of the Politburo, presented a work report and clarified the contents of the draft "Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development."

The conference will last until October 23 to review and approve opinions related to the 15th Five-Year Plan, after which the State Council will complete the compilation to put it to a vote at the "Two Sessions" of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, scheduled to be held in March next year.

After voting, the plan will be officially announced and assigned to authorities at all levels for implementation in the next 5 years./.
