Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong, former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, has been expelled from the Party.

On September 6, 2024, at the Party Central Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat reviewed and imposed disciplinary measures on Party organizations and members who had committed violations and shortcomings.

After considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Commission , the Politburo and the Secretariat have found that:

1. The Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term violated the principle of democratic centralism and the Working Regulations; lacked responsibility, neglected leadership and direction, and failed to inspect and supervise, allowing the Party Group of the Provincial People's Council, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in a number of investment projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company in Bac Giang province.

2. Violations by some Party members in the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee: Comrades Ngo Ngoc Duc, former Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the City Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh Province; Nguyen Thi Hong, former Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee, former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Le Duy Minh, City Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Department of Finance of Ho Chi Minh City, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Director of the Tax Department of Ho Chi Minh City, have shown ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle deviations; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, in preventing and combating corruption and negative practices; violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and a very negative impact on the prestige of the Party organization, agency, and workplace.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations committed by the Party organization and Party members mentioned above, and in accordance with the Party's regulations on disciplinary action against violating Party organizations and members, the Politburo decided to impose a Warning disciplinary measure on the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Party Central Secretariat has decided to expel from the Party the following comrades: Ngo Ngoc Duc, Nguyen Thi Hong, and Le Duy Minh. We request that relevant agencies promptly implement administrative disciplinary measures in conjunction with the Party disciplinary actions.
