Exploiting the advantages of coastal districts

In order to practically celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023), the 137th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2023), the People's Committee of Thanh Phu district organizes the Thanh Phu Sea Culture - Sports - Tourism Week 2023 with the theme "Thanh Phu Sea Tourism Links and Develops". This is an opportunity for Thanh Phu district to introduce tourist attractions, agricultural products, traditional craft villages, and local specialties to tourists, creating opportunities to meet, exchange, share experiences, and connect between tourism and trade business organizations inside and outside the province.

According to Nguyen Van Tuong, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thanh Phu district, Thanh Phu sea water is not blue and does not have white sand but has the characteristics of an alluvial sea. The land, people and cultural traditions, historical relics, and potential for eco-tourism development are considered the first special products for the district to exploit and develop tourism, worthy of the first provincial-level tourist area of the province.

Preparing to serve the April 30 holiday and Thanh Phu Sea Culture, Sports and Tourism Week, a number of culinary establishments have opened in Con Bung. Typically, Phuong Nam opened on April 25, 2023. A representative of this establishment said that the restaurant serves many delicious seafood dishes made from seafood and agricultural products available locally. However, the restaurant's main dishes are seafood dishes such as shrimp, lotus leaf salad, grilled sea cucumber with salt and chili, steamed clams with lemongrass and ginger, grilled oysters with scallion oil, tamarind-fried blood cockles, grilled squid with satay, etc.

At the relic site, the Provincial Museum will display and exhibit photos on the theme of "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea", with over 100 photos and 35 artifacts including weapons, documents, books and related documents. Thereby, it aims to introduce and promote the local cultural and historical traditions to visitors from the perspective that this place is one of the "red addresses" of tourism in the country, worth visiting and learning.

In recent years, Thanh Phu District Culture, Sports and Tourism Week has become a regular activity of the locality, aiming to stimulate tourism, attracting domestic and foreign tourists who want to experience and explore. Coming to Thanh Phu, visitors can immerse themselves in the sea water rich in alluvium and the seascape is both wild and new with images that are easily encountered such as high-tech shrimp farming models, or giant wind turbines onshore and offshore.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung said: Thanh Phu Sea Culture, Sports and Tourism Week aims to promote the image of Ben Tre tourism and Thanh Phu sea tourism, associated with the Eastward development program. In addition to traditional tourism products such as returning to the source, sea tourism, visiting historical sites, this year's week will introduce visitors to community tourism, agricultural tourism, with experiential and discovery activities. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also organizes a beautiful photo contest in Ben Tre in 2023, with the theme "Ben Tre Sea Tourism" of 3 districts Thanh Phu, Ba Tri and Binh Dai. The Tourism Promotion Information Center - TTXTDL (under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organizes a 2-day-1-night Famtrip to introduce to travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, with more than 10 businesses participating in exploring tour connections. In addition, there are also connecting units such as Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association. Ho Chi Minh City and the Tourism Information Centers in the Eastern regional cluster.

According to Director of the Tourism Promotion Center Vo Thanh Son, the 2-day-1-night program includes: visiting the provincial-level tourist area of Thanh Phong and Thanh Hai communes (monument complex, cemetery park, Nam Hai Ong Temple), food and entertainment services; visiting the oyster and clam farming model and experiencing clam catching at the Thanh Loi and Binh Minh seafood cooperatives, feeling the wind power space; visiting the Huynh Phu ancient house relic; the 307 Battalion relic, the row of Sau Dau star apple trees (Dai Dien commune, Phu Khanh)...

Currently, Binh Minh and Thanh Loi seafood cooperatives have prepared beaches to serve tourists to experience catching clams and oysters. Director of Binh Minh Cooperative Nguyen Van Chinh said that the cooperative has prepared to serve tourists. In addition to exploitation and aquaculture activities, the cooperative plans to cooperate with travel agencies to serve visitors, experience and explore, helping the cooperative sell more agricultural products, contributing to increasing the cooperative's income and promoting the local image to tourists.

Thanh Phu Sea Culture, Sports and Tourism Week takes place from April 27 to May 2, 2023, at the Conservation Area, Restoration and Promotion of the Historical Value of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail in Ben Tre, Thanh Hai Commune, Thanh Phu District. On this occasion, the Tourism Promotion Center will introduce the province's tourism maps, including: a tourism map of 3 coastal districts, a 1-day tour, with the theme "Fragrance of the Alluvial Sea"; Minh Islet tourism map, a 2-day 1-night tour, with the theme "One Journey - Four Destinations". For the 2-day 1-night tour, visitors can go to the Chin Song eco-tourism site - experience netting, fishing, and shrimping, along the mangrove forests on both sides of the river.
