Affirming the position of river city

(NADS) - Taking place from May 31 to June 9, the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival in 2024 is a series of tourism, cultural, entertainment, artistic, sports , culinary, and shopping activities, oriented to become a tourism brand event, contributing to positioning Ho Chi Minh City as a river city rich in cultural identity.

Reenactment of "The Legendary Train"

The highlight of the festival is the opening art program with the theme “Legendary Train”, recreating the heroic historical story of the nation through a new artistic language in the form of an outdoor musical on the Saigon River. The performance space is designed like a large film studio with more than 1,000 professional actors and extras participating.

The Organizing Committee included artistic fireworks displays in the festival.

For the first time, the Organizing Committee has included artistic fireworks displays, a reenactment of the Western floating market, an open river swimming competition, a stand-up paddleboard championship, a jet ski performance, and waterway tourism products with the theme "Legendary Train".

The attractive activities of the first Festival will continue to be developed such as river parade, "on the wharf, under the boat" space, fruit week, cultural space, art performance, folk games, culinary competition, artistic lighting decoration, tourism stimulus programs, shopping stimulus programs and discount tickets for art performances.

The Ho Chi Minh City River Festival is organized with the desire to strengthen connections with provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and the Southeast, aiming to build the festival into a common event of the Southern region.
