Construction of quartz sand processing factory started in Phong Dien Industrial Park

Convergence of many advantages

Phong Thu Ward (formerly) was the economic and social center of the old Phong Dien town, and now continues to play a pivotal role in the industrial development of Phong Dien Ward. In the old Phong Thu Ward, more than half of the area is reserved for an Industrial Park (IP) with synchronous infrastructure and a scale of over 700 hectares. Up to now, the IP has attracted 25 effective projects, creating jobs and stable income for more than 7,000 workers inside and outside the locality.

From the beginning of 2025 until now, Phong Dien ward continues to create strong attraction when welcoming 6 more investment projects in the industrial park with a total registered capital of up to 3,600 billion VND. Along with that, many large enterprises have been operating effectively in Phong Dien ward, such as: Dong Lam Cement Factory, Huy Anh Rubber Processing Factory, Phong Thu Tunnel Brick Company... contributing to enhancing the industrial position and creating a sustainable development foundation for the locality.

In the western area of the ward, the Son Xuan My handicraft cluster with an area of over 70 hectares has been planned, inviting investors to build technical infrastructure. This is considered a new highlight, opening up opportunities to attract small and medium enterprises, promote handicraft production, create livelihoods and stable income for local people.

Phong My and Phong Xuan communes (old) are currently important satellite areas in the overall development plan of Phong Dien ward. With the advantage of being located near major traffic routes, such as Provincial Roads 9, 17, 11B connecting to Cam Lo - La Son Expressway and National Highway 1A, these areas are expected to become a hub for goods transit, convenient for developing logistics, trade, services and tourism .

New types of services, such as: Media advertising, express delivery, event organization, technology services, electronic and telecommunications equipment repair, etc. are increasingly expanding, meeting the modern needs of people and businesses. Trade and services not only grow rapidly but also create more added value for the local economy.

In addition to industry and services, Phong Dien ward also strongly develops green, circular agriculture thanks to convenient inter-regional transportation connecting the mountainous and plain areas. Garden - forest - hill economic models, such as growing fruit trees, raising livestock, poultry, and medicinal herbs, are expanding to a scale of over 500 hectares. In particular, the large timber plantation model associated with FSC certification has now reached over 1,325 hectares.

Create new momentum

According to Mr. Ho Don, Chairman of Phong Dien Ward People's Committee, the locality is identifying industry as the key economic sector, accounting for the largest proportion in the economic structure. Therefore, the key goal of the ward in the coming time is to continue expanding and developing Phong Dien Industrial Park towards forming a multi-industry industrial ecosystem, including: Construction materials production (quartz sand), mechanics, supporting industry, agricultural and forestry processing and logistics. At the same time, the long-term goal by 2030 will become a multi-purpose industrial center in the northern part of the city, spreading strongly to the entire key economic region of the Central region.

Another important advantage is the strategic geographical location of Phong Dien ward, which is less than 10km from Dien Loc seaport, which is being planned to become a national seaport; to the west, connecting route 74 to Ho Chi Minh road, Hong Van border gate is being proposed by the city to central ministries and branches for investment and expansion, with the expectation that in the near future it will open up trade opportunities with Laos through the East-West Economic Corridor. This will be the main driving force, supporting the strong development of industry, trade services and cross-border logistics.

Mr. Hoang Viet Cuong, Secretary of Phong Dien Ward Party Committee, informed that the locality is not only coordinating to call for investment in infrastructure and production and business at Phong Dien Industrial Park, but also mobilizing all resources to complete strategic projects in the area from now until 2030.
