Khanh Hoa: Election of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026

On the afternoon of October 16, the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, term VII (2021-2026), held a special meeting to carry out personnel work within its authority and consider and decide on a number of other important contents.

At the meeting, delegates elected the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

As a result, comrade Lam Dong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council; comrade Lu Thanh Hai, Party Secretary and Chairman of Nha Trang Ward People's Council, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.

Comrade Lam Dong was born on February 1, 1971; ethnicity: Kinh; hometown: Hoai Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai province; professional qualifications: Master of Party Building and State Administration, Bachelor of English Pedagogy, Bachelor of Political Education; political theory level: Advanced.

From October 2015 to October 2020, Comrade Lam Dong held the position of Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office. From November 2020 to December 2020, he was a member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chief of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office. From December 2020 to June 2025, he was Head of the Organization Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee.

After merging Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces on July 1, 2025, comrade Lam Dong held the position of Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

At the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, he was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Comrade Lam Dong gave a speech accepting the assignment.

In his acceptance speech, comrade Lam Dong expressed that being elected to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 7th term, 2021-2026, is an honor; he is deeply aware of the great responsibility entrusted to him by the Party Committee, the government, voters and people in the province. At the same time, he affirmed that he will work with the collective to further promote the inheritance of valuable experiences and strive, uphold the spirit of responsibility, constantly innovate and improve the quality of activities so that the Provincial People's Council is truly a local state power agency, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people.

He also said that he will regularly contact, closely connect with and be supervised by voters and people in the province. Thus, the leadership of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, includes 1 chairman and 2 vice chairmen.
