In Bai Dai area (Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa), many resorts have built farms in the direction of green tourism for visitors to experience.
Farming at the resort
A representative of Alma Resort (Bai Dai area, Cam Lam) said that the staff has renovated part of the resort space into a nursery, chicken farm and herb garden. There are all kinds of fruits such as bananas, coconuts, papaya, squash, passion fruit and many kinds of flowers...
All farm products are delivered to the resort's restaurants to serve guests.
"Visitors, especially families with small children, love to come to this area to sow seeds, water plants, harvest carrots or collect chicken eggs.
Having a garden right in the resort not only creates a landscape, provides green space but is also an attractive product for tourists," said a representative of Alma Resort.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy (tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "I really like the garden here, when I check in and pick vegetables to bring back to my room to enjoy.
My family has 4 people, including 1 elderly person and 1 small child, so we do not need to visit or move around much. We want to relax and experience the amenities or some on-site activities."
Green experience tour, green travel materials
Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Director of Long Phu Tourism Joint Stock Company, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Tourism Association - said that green tourism, especially eco-tourism, has proven to be increasingly attractive. Tourists, in addition to admiring the beauty of nature, also learn how to preserve nature through each destination.
"Recently, the company has launched the "Nha Phu Sunset" tour, which is built in an open direction so that visitors can be in harmony with nature. For example, when kayaking to explore the mangrove forest, visitors will learn about the diverse ecosystem such as typical plants and creatures.
The tourist area also has a biodiversity house that preserves information about butterflies, crocodile specimens, birds, etc. It will also build an open zoo where visitors can feed the animals themselves," said Mr. Duc.
In addition to green tours, many businesses are incorporating green materials into their facility and equipment designs.
Ms. Le Nguyen Ai Quynh - manager of Truong Son craft village - said that the craft village was built in an open space, from the chairs woven from rattan and bamboo, the walls and pillars made of wood... natural materials will bring visitors a sense of closeness, while also showing aesthetics. In particular, these natural materials are easy to replace, creating a cool feeling for visitors in the summer.
There are also many units such as Champa Island Nha Trang tourist area with flower gardens, windmills, made of plastic waste; a series of hotels and resorts gradually switched to using cloth bags instead of plastic bags, paper straws instead of plastic straws, glass water bottles, cosmetics made from natural essential oils...
Green tourism is a key part of the green transition.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism - said that in recent years, the province and the tourism industry have always encouraged businesses to invest in developing green tourism.
Recently, the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee issued a plan to develop a project on green transformation in Khanh Hoa province for the period 2024 - 2030, in which developing green tourism is a key focus.
"Tourists are increasingly interested in and willing to pay for green tourism products. Accommodation facilities with lots of green space or nature tours always dominate and attract tourists," said Ms. Thanh.
