Inauguration of Key Secondary School in Quang Ninh

GD&TĐ - On the morning of August 19, Quang Ninh province held the inauguration ceremony and installed the signboard of Trong Diem Secondary School (Ha Long ward).

Education is a strategic priority in all development decisions.

Attending the ceremony were Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Ms. Vi Ngoc Bich, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Vu Van Dien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, localities, teachers and students of Trong Diem Secondary School.

Trong Diem Secondary School is built on the land of the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, starting construction in August 2024, with a total investment of 160 billion VND.

The school covers an area of 1.5 hectares, has 45 classrooms, and meets the learning needs of 2,000 students.

The main items of the project include: a 5-storey administrative block, two 4-storey classroom blocks, a multi-purpose building with a basement and a modern library renovated from the old practice block.

The project is not only an architectural highlight but also fully meets the criteria of a high-quality school, effectively serving the learning of students throughout the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vi Ngoc Bich, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province affirmed that education and training is always the top national policy.

Instilling this spirit, over the years, Quang Ninh province has identified education as a strategic priority in all development decisions.

The province has focused on leading, directing and mobilizing resources to build a comprehensive and modern education system, associated with digital transformation.

The goal is to train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development, realizing the goal of turning Quang Ninh into a modern service-industrial province, an international tourism center and a dynamic growth pole of the Northern region.

In particular, Resolution No. 99/NQ-HDND dated May 31, 2022 approved by the Provincial People's Council has allocated nearly 2,000 billion VND to support localities in building and upgrading facilities and equipment of public schools with the goal of reaching 92.07% of schools meeting national standards in the province by 2025 (an increase of 2.07% compared to the target set out in the Resolution).

Putting Trong Diem Secondary School into use before the opening of the new school year 2025-2026 not only meets the needs of teaching and learning but also affirms the province's strategic vision in educational development, creating a solid foundation for high-quality human resources in the future.

In order for the project to be managed, used and maintained effectively, maximizing the investment value, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province requested the investor and relevant departments and branches to urgently coordinate to complete the handover and management of assets formed from the project; and to carry out the project settlement procedures on time according to regulations.

The Board of Directors of Trong Diem Secondary School needs to promote tradition, build a comprehensive, disciplined and modern educational environment; effectively use newly invested facilities, link teaching and learning with the requirements of educational innovation and orientation for developing high-quality human resources of the province; at the same time, strengthen responsibility in managing, preserving and protecting the project, so that this place can truly become a typical educational address, a source of pride for Ha Long ward and Quang Ninh province.

At the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son sent his best wishes to teachers and students of Trong Diem Secondary School.

The investment in building Trong Diem Secondary School clearly demonstrates the determination of the entire political system of Quang Ninh province in taking care of the cause of educating people.

The Minister also hopes that Quang Ninh province will continue to pay attention and invest in education to have more spacious and modern schools.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that currently, the education and training sector takes comprehensive human development as its focus and goal. Therefore, education in Quang Ninh province in general and Trong Diem Secondary School in particular needs to aim at educating and creating citizens with cultural awareness and social responsibility.

Trong Diem Secondary School, formerly known as Hong Gai Secondary School, was established in 1993 and has had its current name since 1996.

Over 31 years of construction and development, the school has always maintained its tradition and top quality, and is a bright spot in the movement "Good Teaching - Good Learning".

With many outstanding achievements, the school has been recognized as meeting national standards, honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal, Second Class Labor Medal and especially the First Class Labor Medal awarded by the President for the 2024-2025 school year.
