The output of super-intensive shrimp farming is many times higher than that of traditional whiteleg shrimp farming.

Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, highly appreciated the fact that shrimp farming households have boldly invested in 2-stage super-intensive whiteleg shrimp farming, applying high technology at the household level, contributing to increasing shrimp production and increasing household income. Thereby, contributing to increasing brackish water shrimp production of Can Tho City by the end of 2025, with the target of reaching more than 233,800 tons, with an export turnover of 1 billion USD.
For the 2025 shrimp crop to be successful, Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh recommends that shrimp farmers strictly follow the crop calendar recommended by the industry, choose shrimp breeds with clear origin, pay attention to protecting farmed shrimp during the current rainy season, and pay attention to the amount of feed given to shrimp during the rainy season. Up to now, the brackish water shrimp farming area in Can Tho city is 48,720 hectares (white leg shrimp 37,250 hectares, black tiger shrimp 11,470 hectares); the harvested brackish water shrimp output has reached 167,700 tons.
