(kontumtv.vn) – Welcoming the new year 2025 , people in many villages and ethnic minority areas in Kon Tum province are happy and excited because they have completed the goal of building residential areas and localities that meet new rural standards.
Being selected to build a pilot model in implementing Directive No. 12 of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels in building new rural villages and hamlets in ethnic minority areas in the province", especially the support of Working Group 262 of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has helped Lang Moi village, Muong Hoong commune, Dak Glei district have many improvements in socio-economic development.
From a place where one rice crop was grown, the garden was abandoned, and more than 70% of households were poor, up to now, Lang Moi village has grown 37 hectares of coffee, more than 21,000 Ngoc Linh ginseng trees, 100% of families know how to grow two rice crops, grow vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees in their home gardens. In 2024, the average income per capita of the village will reach more than 36.7 million VND, the poor households will be less than 2% and there will be no more temporary houses. Ms. Y Bia - Party Cell Secretary, Village Head of Lang Moi village said: "Together, we will clean the village roads, alleys, houses, and communal houses, the Party Cell will mobilize people to make wine in jars according to the tradition of Xe Dang and then wrap sticky rice according to our tradition, whoever has something to contribute so that we can make the festival successful."
With strong political determination, Directive No. 12, dated February 18, 2022 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee sets a target that by 2025, at least 50% of ethnic minority villages will meet new rural standards. Accordingly, Party committees, authorities, and organizations at all levels in the province have taken drastic measures to help ethnic minority villages develop, especially in key villages. During the implementation process, many typical residential areas, good practices, and typical individuals in new rural construction have emerged. A typical example is Kon Brap Ju village, Tan Lap commune, Kon Ray district. In 2022, the village only met 3 criteria, but now it has met 10/10 criteria. Mr. Phan Van Lung, a resident of Kon Brap Ju village, shared: “ Over the years, people have also learned to develop a high-value economy . Secondly, people know how to utilize their gardens to grow vegetables, flowers, and trees around the communal house and the DH21 road, building green, clean, and beautiful village roads and alleys.”
Ho Moong Commune, Sa Thay District and Dak Wot Yop model village are bright spots in implementing Directive 12 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. Up to now, the poverty rate in Ho Moong Commune is below 6%, the average income per capita has reached nearly 52 million VND , and temporary and dilapidated houses have been basically eliminated. In Dak Wot Yop model village, out of 110 households, only 6 households are poor. Promoting this result, Ho Moong Commune is striving to build Dak Yo village - the model village of the commune to reach the finish line by the end of December 2024. Currently, the two most difficult criteria, poverty reduction and village income, have been achieved and exceeded. Mr. Nguyen Van Hau - Chairman of Ho Moong Commune People's Committee, Sa Thay District, said: " The local Party Committee and government focus on capital sources from the National Target Program to integrate the National Target Program with livelihoods to support seedlings for people to have a foundation for sustainable economic development to have a basis to escape poverty, develop the economy and improve family life."
With the drastic participation of the political system, by early December 2024, Kon Tum province had 29 villages meeting the standards of new rural residential areas and 84 villages in ethnic minority areas meeting the standards of new rural areas. Compared to 2022, there were 65 more villages meeting the standards of new rural areas. This is the basis for the province to continue striving to achieve the goals set out in Directive 12. Mr. Huynh Van Liem - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: " The goal for 2025 is that the whole province will have 7 more new rural communes, bringing the total number of new rural communes to 70. The second goal is to build ethnic minority villages meeting the standards of new rural areas, with 50% of villages meeting the standards, equivalent to 200 villages meeting the standards of new rural areas according to Directive 12 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee. Along with that, build districts meeting the standards of new rural areas according to the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress."
Joy and excitement have been spreading in every family as the residential area meets new rural standards. This result reflects that Directive No. 12 of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has been and is being well implemented by localities./.
