When Vietnamese drones, robots and chips "go live" at the HCMC technology exhibition

(Dan Tri) - (Dan Tri) - From surgical robots, new generation ultra-light drones to AI chips, a series of strategic technologies were introduced at the technology exhibition to celebrate the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress.

Welcoming the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology chaired the opening of the exhibition "National Strategic Technology Products in Ho Chi Minh City".

The 3-day event (October 13-15) at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials gathered nearly 30 booths with more than 650 products and solutions belonging to 11 key technology groups, reflecting the city's outstanding achievements in science, technology and innovation in the 2021-2025 period.

The highlight of the exhibition is the ultra-light drones, multi-mission UAVs and new generation AI chips, demonstrating the core technology mastery of the Vietnamese engineering team. The new drone models integrate AI camera modules, precision 3-axis gimbals and real-time data analysis systems, which can track and detect objects in complex environments.

Some vertical take-off and landing aircraft, with continuous operation time of up to 180 minutes, serve effectively in patrolling, rescue, monitoring forest fires and smart agriculture . In addition, there are specialized UAVs for fire fighting and high-precision agricultural spraying, aiming at practical application and sustainable development.

In the semiconductor field, chipsets and IP cores serving Internet infrastructure, telecommunications and data centers with processing speeds up to 400 Gigabits/second have been researched and produced domestically. This is an important milestone for the Vietnamese microchip industry, showing its competitive potential in the international market.

The smart medical space attracted special attention from visitors with many modern biomedical devices. The Modus V Synaptive surgical robot is owned by only 14 countries in the world, supporting neurosurgery, cranial and spinal surgery with micro-precision.

In parallel, the da Vinci Xi surgical robot can perform more than 120 different types of surgery, helping to minimize tissue damage and shorten recovery time for patients.

Artificial intelligence (AI) platforms in medical imaging diagnosis were also introduced, capable of detecting more than 120 pathological signs on chest X-rays and 130 signs on brain CT scans, helping doctors improve accuracy and shorten the time to read results.

In addition, research solutions on cells, biomedical chips, sensors and robots supporting rehabilitation also reflect the efforts of the Vietnamese scientific community in bringing technology into practical medicine, towards smart healthcare.

In addition to the industrial and medical sectors, the exhibition also introduced the “Make in Vietnam” technology ecosystem, ranging from artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital banking to RFID and blockchain. Educational platforms, digital finance, cybersecurity, smart operations and big data management were demonstrated, showing the city’s strong progress in comprehensive digital transformation.

The exhibition area on green industry and high-tech agriculture brings a model of an ecological industrial park, aiming at the Net Zero 2050 goal, along with a chain of clean agricultural products applying IoT and international standards.

Notably, the exhibition also had the participation of large domestic financial technology enterprises, demonstrating smart payment solutions, serving tens of millions of users, demonstrating Vietnam's digital transformation capacity in the fields of public services and finance.

According to the exhibition organizers, in the 2025-2030 period, Ho Chi Minh City sets a strategic goal of becoming an international innovation center, with the digital economy accounting for 30-40% of GRDP and total factor productivity (TFP) contributing 60% to growth.

To realize this vision, the city will focus on key breakthrough solutions, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for sustainable development. Ho Chi Minh City's solutions in the coming time are mechanisms, policies and investment attraction; strategic technology, innovation ecosystem; digital governance and digital human resources.

This exhibition not only introduces technology products, but also demonstrates the aspiration of “Make in Vietnam”, the creative spirit and integration capacity of the Vietnamese science and business community, on the journey to turn Ho Chi Minh City into a smart city, the leading technology center in the region.
