The Protocol on Quarantine Requirements for Long-tailed Macaques of Vietnam is the result of efforts, active exchanges and negotiations between the Vietnam Department of Animal Health and the General Administration of Customs of China, as well as the very active and effective support of the Vietnamese Embassy (Commercial Office) in China and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam over the past year.

Immediately after the Protocol was signed, the Department of Animal Health continued to proactively work with the General Administration of Customs of China to discuss and agree on the content of the Sample Quarantine Certificate for exporting monkeys from Vietnam to China. The exchange process also received very active and effective support from the Vietnamese Embassy (Trade Office) in China and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam.

On July 29, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China officially notified the Department of Animal Health to agree with the Sample Quarantine Certificate for exporting monkeys from Vietnam to China.

The next step, to export monkeys to China, Vietnamese enterprises that have the demand and meet the conditions stated in the Protocol, need to register for the Department of Animal Health to synthesize, confirm and send to the General Department of Customs of China for consideration and decision.

Thus, in addition to Vietnamese products such as milk and bird's nest, Vietnam has now added another product officially exported to the Chinese market.
