Commencement of resettlement project serving Lao Cai - Hanoi

This is one of 250 projects starting construction to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), and is also one of 10 online bridges of Hanoi city.

Attending the ceremony were Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong; leaders of departments, branches, and many local people.

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line is 390.9km long, of which the section passing through the capital is 37.5km long, passing through the communes of Tien Thang, Quang Minh, Phuc Thinh, Thu Lam, Phu Dong and Thuan An.

In Hanoi alone, the estimated land clearance volume is about 245.2 hectares.

For Dong Anh commune, although the railway does not pass through, 2 points for construction of technical infrastructure for compensation, support and resettlement within the territory of Hanoi city were selected to implement the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.

Firstly, the land auction for land use rights of Duc Tu 3 with an area of 6.0019 hectares, was approved by the People's Committee of the old Dong Anh district in Decision 15504/QD-UBND dated December 9, 2022.

Second, the land area west of Dan Di Street, with an area of 15.7523 hectares, has been approved for detailed planning adjustment in Decision 7648/QD-UBND dated July 17, 2024.

Both areas have basically completed site clearance and are ready to enter the technical infrastructure construction phase.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Dong Anh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Thieng emphasized that being trusted by the central government and the city to choose to implement the resettlement project is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility for the Party Committee, government and local people. Fully aware of that, the commune has focused on leadership, direction, and drastic implementation of many solutions, while promoting propaganda and mobilization to create consensus among the people. Thanks to that, up to now, the site clearance work in resettlement areas has been basically completed, creating favorable conditions for the project to start on schedule.

Being selected by the central government and the city is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility. The Party Committee, government and people of the commune have focused on directing resolutely, doing a good job of propaganda and mobilization. In the coming time, Dong Anh commune will continue to improve the compensation and support policies for households whose land is recovered, ensuring legitimate rights, helping people stabilize production and life; at the same time, urging contractors to speed up construction progress, soon complete electricity and water infrastructure, ready to welcome resettled households to settle down and make a living; synchronously deploy adjacent projects, connect technical infrastructure, form a new high-quality, synchronous and modern urban area.

The resettlement project in Dong Anh commune not only directly serves the vital inter-regional railway line, but is also a project of important political significance, contributing to realizing the strategic infrastructure development orientation, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the capital and the whole country.
