The 4th Student Science Conference on Nature Conservation is co-organized by the Vietnam Wildlife Action Center (WildAct) and the Center for Conservation of Biodiversity and Endangered Species (CBES). The event is expected to take place this coming October in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the context of green transition becoming a global trend, the capacity of "environmental stewardship" has been ranked by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as one of the top 10 most important job skills from 2025-2030. In Vietnam, the environment and nature conservation sector is still facing a serious shortage of human resources.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Director of the Vietnam Wildlife Action Center, commented: "The nature conservation profession in Vietnam is still not properly understood. Most people, including young people, are not updated and do not clearly understand what nature conservation work is."
"Because there is no comprehensive view of the conservation industry, attracting high-quality human resources is also affected. Many young people do not see a clear career path in this field and that invisibly reduces the attractiveness of an industry that plays a key role in sustainable development," Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang analyzed.

In fact, many students (studying the field of environment and nature conservation) when they first graduate often lack the necessary experience and soft skills, leading to many difficulties in finding a job. On the other hand, many employers require candidates to have experience. This is a big barrier for new graduates in the process of finding a suitable job.
Understanding this, the Vietnam Wildlife Action Center has initiated the Student Scientific Conference on Nature Conservation since 2022, with the desire to create an open, practical and highly connected research platform. The conference is not only a place for students to present their research and nature conservation initiatives, but also an opportunity for them to learn from leading experts, interact with employers and access career opportunities.
Coming out of the Student Scientific Conference on Nature Conservation season 3, Hai Trang said that as a Law student, participating in the conference helped Trang hone many skills, especially analysis and research.
"This knowledge and skills have helped me apply a lot in my practical work of researching environmental policies and laws," Hai Trang added.
The Student Scientific Conference on Nature Conservation Season 4 - 2025 promises to bring an academic, connecting and inspiring space for the pioneering generation to create a green future.
The conference is expected to include presentations, poster presentations, panel discussions, skill workshops and field activities. The best topics will be awarded to recognize the research efforts of young people. Registration information is updated on WildAct's official Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WildActvn
