With openness in the program, learning content, career education is changing diversely from methods to content to suit the needs and ages of students.

Thereby, gradually arousing career aspirations so that students have goals and motivation to study, gradually realizing their career dreams and having the opportunity to contribute to society.

In general schools, in addition to formal educational activities, students can participate in open educational activities inside and outside of school. This is a flexible change thanks to the development of career education activities according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Accordingly, vocational education activities are carried out according to a roadmap suitable for students' ages, from self-discovery activities (primary school), building career awareness (secondary school), and being able to choose a career that suits their abilities and interests, conditions and circumstances (high school).

High school students learn about the Civil Engineering industry at a career guidance activity organized by the Department of Education and Training in collaboration with universities in Buon Ma Thuot City.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Quy, Principal of Le Thi Hong Gam Primary School (Buon Ma Thuot City), primary school students love to explore the world and their living environment. Therefore, they can participate in career education activities that are interesting and experiential in the direction of both learning and exploring such as: STEM education; visiting and experiencing scenic spots in the province; learning how to prepare simple dishes in the classroom; taking care of flower beds and ornamental plants in the schoolyard and classrooms... Through that, teachers will guide and open up students' imagination and career interests; encourage them to study hard to realize their career dreams.

At the secondary level, career guidance activities are presented in a more diverse and in-depth manner, such as: coordinating with high schools, intermediate schools, and colleges in the province to provide career information, admissions counseling, how to choose a career based on one's own abilities and career trends; career guidance through morning meetings, extracurricular activities, etc.

At high school level, more in-depth career guidance activities aim to help students become familiar with careers, advise on career choices and develop career capacity according to different abilities, interests, values ​​and goals, avoiding following the crowd or traditional choices...

According to the curriculum, career guidance activities also gradually go into depth at higher levels through the selection of subject combinations in grade 10 and high school. At a more "mature" age than junior high school students, students have more time to explore their own abilities; are supported by the school with specialized career guidance methods (personal counseling, using assessment tools, interacting with experts...) so they understand themselves more deeply (know what they have and what job they want); thereby, they can gradually build their own career identity and choose the path that best suits them.

According to the 2019 Law on Education, career guidance in education is a system of measures carried out inside and outside educational institutions to help students gain knowledge about careers and the ability to choose a career based on combining personal aspirations and strengths with the labor needs of society.

Mr. Vo Quoc Phong, Principal of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (Krong Pac district) said that the school always accompanies students in career guidance activities through integration into the main curriculum, experiential activities; invites educational institutions (universities, colleges) to coordinate and integrate providing enrollment plans and admission methods so that students have more information to choose the right major and school.

Career guidance programs are organized simultaneously in all grades to help students have a comprehensive perspective on careers during their 3 years of high school; along with that is an effort to improve the quality of study, confidently participate in various exams to pursue a career path after graduating from high school.

At Buon Ma Thuot High School (Buon Ma Thuot City), French is taught in two forms: Foreign Language 1 and Foreign Language 2 (3-year program from grade 10 to grade 12).

Recently, the school has cooperated with educational institutions from France to provide information on career guidance, study abroad, and student exchange between Vietnam and France directly at the school and indirectly through personal contact.

Accordingly, in addition to studying abroad at university after graduating from high school, students can also participate in student exchange programs while in high school to have the opportunity to go to France to learn about French culture and career trends around the world.

Teachers and students of Buon Ma Thuot High School (Buon Ma Thuot City) connect with study abroad counselors after a career education and study abroad activity in France at the end of October 2024.

Huynh Thi To Nhu, class 12A11, Buon Ma Thuot High School, said that the study abroad and direct admission consultation session for Valenciennes Polytechnic University in Northern France at the end of October 2024 provided interesting information about the path of study and future experiences in France; the education system in France focuses on quality and personalization.

The orientation not only provided knowledge but also a great source of motivation for me to dare to dream and make more efforts. Although the road ahead is full of challenges, I believe that with careful preparation and determination, studying abroad in France will be a memorable and meaningful journey in my life.
