German girl Leonie Hofsaess (second from right) provides information |
Some time later, from Leonie Hofsaess, I was able to become an insider to access and expand sources of information on starting a business in the policy-making corridor to promote a cleaner agricultural economy in the area. At the first meeting point, Leonie Hofsaess arrived early on Sunday morning to wait for me at Green box Coffee, No. 85, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Da Lat. When I arrived, I was quite surprised and excited because I not only enjoyed garden coffee but also experienced the space for buying and selling vegetables, tubers, fruits, organic coffee, and honey on 15 stalls of about 15 young farmers starting a business from the agricultural land of Da Lat City spreading to neighboring districts.
This space is called the organic market, located in the central area in a total area of over 6,000 m2 , operating once a month on the third Sunday. Every normal day here before the organic market and until now, coffee drinkers can experience directly picking and eating fresh baby tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, and buying hydroponic salads according to each food safety certification model.

Experiencing the Green box Coffee space, I met the owner who was both familiar and strange, Mr. Tran Huy Duong - Director of Langbiang Farm Company Limited, the Langbiang Farm brand started after more than 20 years to become one of the first few enterprises in Lam Dong province to be recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at that time as a high-tech agricultural enterprise. I am familiar with Mr. Tran Huy Duong who has been in regular contact and exchange on the sidelines of international, national and Lam Dong province seminars, conferences and discussions for more than 20 years on the topics of comprehensive, sustainable and modern agricultural development in the Southern Central Highlands. And the strange thing here is that Mr. Tran Huy Duong has increased the area of vegetables, tubers, fruits, and commercial flowers to more than 30 hectares from the agricultural area of Da Lat city to the agricultural area of Lac Duong district, through the organic vegetable market and Green box Coffee creating an environment for farmers and customers to share and exchange each technological solution combined with experience to "diffuse" each model created for today and for tomorrow.
From the communication at the organic vegetable market of Green box Coffee space, I followed the source of information on the conversion of farming from conventional solutions to smart solutions in the vegetable, root and fruit fields of Da Lat city to Lac Duong district and then down to Lam Ha, Duc Trong, Don Duong districts, directly witnessing the use of the Internet of Things system, storing data on cloud computing for the current crop and the following crops. There, with just a smartphone, farmers anywhere with internet on this earth can control and operate the care regimes for vegetable, root and fruit gardens to achieve high productivity, food safety quality and optimal profit value over months, years and many years, many years of initialization later.

Continuing to expand my topic, I went to the remote areas of Da K'nang and Phi Lieng communes, Dam Rong district, where I became an insider in the macadamia forests, harvesting and processing on-site to produce local organic products. This macadamia forest connects three hills with a total area of more than 15 hectares of organic farming according to a stable chain, contributing to increasing the forest greening rate, while increasing economic benefits for the next and subsequent crops.
Until now, writing about my journalistic career, I still remember clearly the "self-narration" of the owner of Dung Hoi Macadamia Processing Facility, Mr. Phan Van Hoi, who shared: "Hopefully, from our 15-hectare organic macadamia linkage model, the agricultural areas of Phi Lieng commune, Da K'nang commune, Dam Rong district will continue to form and initiate many new organic macadamia fields, integrating multi-values, rapidly increasing income for today and for the future, contributing to enriching farmers who settle in what was previously known as a remote, deprived and difficult area of Lam Dong province...".
So, from the German girl Leonie Hofsaess, I just met, she led me through many information areas to build and successfully implement a series of articles on initiation in creation, which was awarded First Prize by the Vietnam Journalists Association - the First Central Highlands Press Award in 2023.
