Prosecuted 3 suspects for avoiding alcohol test, driving into traffic police motorbike

On January 19, information from Que Phong District Police, Nghe An Province, the unit has just prosecuted the subjects Ngan Van Hung, Quang Van Trung and Vi Van Chuong for the crime of "Resisting people on official duty".

Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024, while performing patrol and control duties in the area, the Working Group of the Traffic Police and Order Team of Que Phong District Police received a report that a man driving a pickup truck with license plate 37C-361.33 from Kim Son town to Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district showed signs of using alcohol, affecting traffic order and safety in the area.

The task force quickly conducted a patrol, discovered and signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection. During the task, the task force followed the correct procedures, however, the driver, Ngan Van Hung (born in 1993), residing in Nam Giai commune, Que Phong district, did not comply with the orders of the authorities.

The subject drove the car backwards and intended to turn around and run away. The task force continued to ask the driver to stop the vehicle for inspection, but Ngan Van Hung resisted, driving the vehicle forward and crashing into the task force's specialized motorbike, causing it to fall onto the road, injuring a traffic police officer. Hung then accelerated and ran away.

During the incident, in the pickup truck with license plate 37C-361.33 driven by Ngan Van Hung, there were also Quang Van Trung (born in 1994) and Vi Van Chuong (born in 1987), both residing in Nam Giai commune, Que Phong district. These subjects not only did not stop Ngan Van Hung but also used words and actions to incite Hung to resist the authorities and run away.

Realizing that the behavior of Ngan Van Hung and other subjects was very reckless, possibly endangering people and vehicles participating in traffic, and needed to be strictly handled according to the provisions of the law, the Working Group reported to the unit's leaders to direct forces to urgently investigate to clarify the incident.

At 8:00 a.m. on January 7, 2024, realizing his wrongdoings, Ngan Van Hung turned himself in to the police. The investigation agency issued an order for temporary detention for Ngan Van Hung and an order prohibiting Quang Van Trung and Vi Van Chuong from leaving their place of residence and temporarily suspending their exit from the country.
