The initial investigation results determined that, from March 28, 2024 to May 15, 2024 and from May 28, 2024 to December 31, 2024, at the Central Highlands General Hospital, the laser lithotripsy machine was broken and could not be used. Two department heads still performed endoscopic lithotripsy procedures contrary to the procedure (recording over 255 medical records that performed techniques using laser machines).
The actions of the two defendants caused a loss of over VND273 million to the health insurance fund and nearly VND60 million to the patient’s property. In addition, the incident seriously affected the reputation of the Central Highlands General Hospital, the rights and health of patients, and caused negative reactions in public opinion.
The Dak Lak Provincial Police Investigation Agency is continuing to expand the investigation, clarifying the behavior of related individuals to strictly handle them according to the law.
