Previously, Le Vai and a female victim residing in Thuan An ward had a romantic relationship. During their acquaintance, Vai helped the victim borrow 18 million VND.

At around 6:00 p.m. on November 20, 2024, after Le Vai and the victim came home from drinking, a conflict arose. Vai asked the victim to return the money he had borrowed, so the two had an argument. The subject threw rocks at the victim's house and used bamboo and wooden sticks to hit the victim, causing injuries to the face and left arm. Through injury assessment, it was determined that the victim's body injury was 15%.
