On May 24, a clip appeared on social media recording a man climbing onto the Nguyen Dynasty throne - a national treasure currently located at Thai Hoa Palace ( Hue Imperial City) - and causing trouble.
Accordingly, the clip is said to have been filmed by a foreign tourist while visiting Thai Hoa Palace at noon on May 24.
In the clip, a man jumped over the security fence and climbed up to sit cross-legged on the Nguyen Dynasty throne in front of many people.
According to information posted online, this man then broke the armrest of the throne into many pieces.
A source at the Hue Monuments Conservation Center confirmed the incident to Tuoi Tre Online . Accordingly, the man was restrained by security forces of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and handed over to the police for handling.
The source also said that this man bought a ticket to visit the relic and then the above incident happened.
The case is still under investigation.
