Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site is open day and night

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site (Ho Chi Minh City) is one of the unique tourist attractions in the city, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the country to visit and learn about this famous landmark.

Located about 70km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels is a miniature of the creative and varied battle formations of the army and people of Cu Chi during the long and fierce 30-year resistance war against invaders, gaining independence and freedom for the Fatherland.

This is a unique and unparalleled wonder of war with about 250km of tunnels spreading like a spider web underground, with works connected to the tunnels such as: trenches, mounds, fighting nests, eating, sleeping, meeting, living, medical, food storage, water wells, Hoang Cam kitchen...

Relying on the system of underground tunnels, fortifications, and trenches, the soldiers and people of Cu Chi fought extremely bravely, achieving miraculous feats. The US army, when first entering Cu Chi, encountered fierce resistance from the tunnels in the dangerous base area, and had to exclaim: "Underground village", "Dangerous secret zone"...

Just go down a tunnel, you will understand why the small country of Vietnam defeated the enemy, which is the largest and richest country in the world. Why Cu Chi, a poor land, fought for 21 years against an army that was many times larger, skilled in fighting, equipped with modern and sophisticated weapons and means of war. In this confrontation, the army and people of Cu Chi won a glorious victory.

According to Major Trieu Van Hieu, Director of the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site, this is not only a special historical site but also a symbol of patriotism, intelligence and the resilient, indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people.

The unit is urgently coordinating to complete the necessary procedures to work with competent authorities to soon submit to UNESCO to recognize Cu Chi Tunnels as a world heritage, worthy of the great man-made structure created by many generations of ancestors in the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, to gain independence, freedom, and unity for the nation and the Fatherland.
