Da Nang Station is currently located on Hai Phong Street (Thanh Khe District), which is the central, bustling area of ​​Da Nang City.

Relocating Da Nang station out of the inner city helps reduce traffic congestion, while creating land for urban reconstruction, connecting important routes for socio -economic development.

It is known that according to the relocation plan, the passenger station of Da Nang station will be moved to Trung Nghia lake area.

Located at the intersection of 3 routes Hoang Thi Loan - Nam Tran - Nguyen Tuong Pho (Lien Chieu district).

The new station is 4.2km from the old station, near the Hue Intersection overpass and Da Nang Central Bus Station.

The current railway route in Da Nang city will be kept the same.

The dead-end railway branch from Thanh Khe roundabout through Thanh Khe station to Da Nang station will be converted into an urban railway suitable for the city's metro network.

According to the design, the new passenger terminal has an area of ​​about 3,000 m2, 10 floors high to serve the reception of train passengers.

Kim Lien station area is a cargo station, auxiliary works and railway agencies, this place will become a cargo station with a loading and unloading capacity of about 500,000 tons per year.

Kim Lien Station is located on Nguyen Van Cu Street, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City.

The total investment for the Da Nang station relocation project, phase 1, is expected to be 2,293 billion VND, of which site clearance costs are 781 billion VND; construction and equipment costs are about 1,190 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City proposed to implement the project of relocating Da Nang station phase 1 from 2024 to 2030, in which the construction phase is from the third quarter of 2026 to 2030. The new passenger railway station will operate until 2050.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the project to relocate Da Nang Railway Station and related works out of the city center is one of the important projects for infrastructure development of the city. However, due to the difficulty of investment resources for the railway industry, along with the Government's priority to focus on investing in the expressway network, the time to relocate Da Nang Railway Station to a new location has been extended. This will only be considered for investment research after 2030.

While waiting for the implementation according to the plan, the People's Committee of Da Nang City will proactively study and prepare a plan to relocate the railway station. The investment in building a new railway station according to the plan will be carried out later and will be chaired by the Ministry of Transport; the station will be located in Hoa Son commune (Hoa Vang district), synchronized with the North-South high-speed railway project.
