The Sa Ky - Ly Son waterway has recently operated a fleet of 8 high-speed boats. Travel time is 35-45 minutes/trip with an average transport capacity of about 1,500 trips/day. During holidays, New Year or peak tourist season, the capacity can increase to over 2,000 passengers/day.

However, most of the fleet has been in operation for more than 5 years, the equipment on board is not modern, and has not created a breakthrough in passenger transport.

The Department of Construction encourages businesses and cooperatives to invest in building new high-speed passenger ships operating on the route to improve service quality as well as open up the development of tourism and transportation. Quang Ngai province is determined to develop the Sa Ky - Ly Son waterway route to be modern, safe, friendly and meet the increasing demand for sea and island tourism. Therefore, the province will fully support the business community and investors in investing in new ships.
