Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Vice Chairman of Gia Lam Commune People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Dung said that the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" has become a cultural beauty and daily habit of Gia Lam people.

Mass sports clubs are increasingly diverse: football, badminton, volleyball, athletics, health care, martial arts, zumba, folk dance, ballroom dancing..., contributing to building an increasingly healthy and rich grassroots cultural life.

The first Gia Lam Commune Sports Festival had 9 competitions, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate. The athletes demonstrated an honest and noble competitive spirit, determined to achieve the highest results.

Units, unions, schools, villages, residential groups, and armed forces actively practiced for the parade and opening ceremony, demonstrating the heroic spirit and solidarity of the whole commune.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Dung emphasized that the first Gia Lam Commune Sports Congress is not only an opportunity to evaluate the results of the development of the mass sports movement, but also a forum to honor outstanding collectives and individuals, and select excellent athletes to represent the commune to attend the upcoming 11th City Sports Congress. This is also a vivid demonstration of the attention of the Party, the State and the local government to the work of taking care of people's health, while affirming the will to rise, the spirit of solidarity and the youthfulness of the people of Gia Lam today.
