Not only is it a product display area, this place truly recreates the creative spirit, ingenuity and cultural identity of the Capital through the talented hands of craft village artisans.
With a scale of 17,000m², the “Quintessence of Autumn in Hanoi” area hosted by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade is considered the “heart” of this year’s Autumn Fair. According to records on October 26, a continuous stream of people flocked to the Bat Trang ceramics, Xuan La figurines and Thuy Ung horn handicrafts display areas, creating a bustling and joyful atmosphere.
Many families bring their children to watch the artisans perform, while foreign tourists are excited to learn about the cultural stories and manufacturing techniques behind each traditional handicraft product.

At the Bat Trang ceramic booth, artisan Phung Quang Dang enthusiastically introduced the process of shaping, carving and finishing the product. He shared: “The great interest of the public is a source of pride for the craft village, and at the same time opens up hope for orders and long-term connections after the fair.”
To increase interaction, artisan Dang organizes pottery demonstration sessions at fixed times, combining on-site product sales and QR code scanning to help customers easily access and order products.

The atmosphere at the Xuan La clay figurine display area (Phu Xuyen commune) was equally exciting. Many children watched each shaping movement attentively, took photos and placed orders, and many foreign tourists also stopped to discuss the safe materials and cultural significance of the traditional toy.
Artisan Dang Thuong, one of the youngest artisans involved in the craft of making to he figurines in Xuan La, expressed his hope that the craft of making to he figurines would not only be preserved but also develop strongly through cooperation chains after the fair...

At the Thuy Ung horn handicraft stall (Thuong Tin commune), artisan Nguyen Van Su, owner of Muoi Su establishment, was busy introducing sophisticated products made from buffalo and cow horns - items that combine manual techniques and modern aesthetics.
Mr. Su said: “The fair is a valuable opportunity for us to promote traditional crafts and meet people who love handicrafts. For me, this is not only an opportunity to sell products but also an opportunity to tell the story of the profession and inspire the younger generation.”
This year’s “Quintessence of Autumn in Hanoi” area brings together about 30 artisans and skilled workers representing many famous craft villages in the capital. Each booth is designed as a “living experience space”, where viewers can touch, try, and create with the artisans. It is this direct interaction that makes the space come alive, giving visitors the feeling of “entering the world of traditional crafts”.

In fact, besides its cultural value, “Quintessence of Autumn in Hanoi” also opens up clear commercial opportunities. The large number of customers and flexible sales methods - from demonstrations, displays, to sales via QR codes - are helping Hanoi’s handicraft products get closer to domestic consumers and export markets. Many artisans shared that on the first day, they received cooperation offers from retail businesses and foreign partners.
The 2025 Autumn Fair is therefore not only a stage for handicrafts but also an economic launch pad for the capital’s traditional craft villages. Each performance, each ordered product is a small but sure step in the journey to bring the quintessence of Hanoi to the world.
With the attraction of performance, experience and trade, “Quintessence of Autumn Hanoi” is affirming its role as a highlight of the 2025 Autumn Fair. The stable number of visitors, positive order signals and thorough preparation of artisans show the great potential of Hanoi handicraft products in both domestic and export markets.
