More than just a product display area, this place truly recreates the creative spirit, craftsmanship, and cultural identity of the capital city through the skillful hands of artisans from traditional craft villages.

Spanning 17,000 square meters, the "Hanoi Autumn Quintessence" area, organized by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, is considered the "heart" of this year's Autumn Fair. As observed on October 26th, crowds continuously flocked to the Bat Trang pottery exhibition area, the Xuan La traditional toy area, and the Thuy Ung horn handicraft area, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.

Many families bring their young children to watch the artisans perform, while foreign tourists are eager to learn about the cultural stories and craftsmanship behind each traditional handcrafted product.

At the Bat Trang pottery booth, artisan Phung Quang Dang enthusiastically introduced the process of shaping, carving, and finishing the products. He shared: "The great public interest is a source of pride for the craft village, and it also opens up hope for orders and long-term connections after the fair."

To increase interaction, artisan Dang organizes pottery-making demonstrations at fixed times, combining on-site product sales and QR code ordering, making it easy for customers to access and purchase products.

The atmosphere at the Xuan La clay figurine demonstration area (Phu Xuyen commune) was equally vibrant. Many children attentively watched each step of the figurine making process, happily taking photos and placing custom orders. Numerous foreign tourists also stopped to discuss the safe materials and cultural significance of this traditional folk toy.

Artisan Dang Thuong, one of the youngest artisans dedicated to the craft of making tò he (traditional Vietnamese figurines made from rice dough) in Xuan La, expressed his wish that the craft of tò he would not only be preserved but also strongly developed through collaborative projects following the fair…

Meanwhile, at the Thuy Ung horn handicraft stall (Thuong Tin commune), artisan Nguyen Van Su, owner of the Muoi Su workshop, was busy introducing exquisite products crafted from buffalo and cow horns – items that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

Mr. Su said: “The fair is a valuable opportunity for us to promote our traditional crafts and meet people who love handcrafted products. For me, this is not just an opportunity to sell goods, but also an opportunity to tell the story of our craft and inspire the younger generation.”

This year's "Hanoi Autumn Quintessence" area brings together approximately 30 artisans and skilled craftsmen representing many famous traditional craft villages of the capital. Each booth is designed as a "living experience space," where visitors can touch, try, and create alongside the artisans. This direct interaction makes the space vibrant, giving visitors the feeling of "stepping into the world of traditional crafts."

In reality, besides its cultural value, "The Quintessence of Hanoi Autumn" also opens up clear commercial opportunities. The large number of visitors and flexible sales methods – from demonstrations and displays to sales via QR codes – are helping Hanoi's handicrafts and fine art products get closer to domestic consumers and export markets. Many artisans shared that, on the very first day, they received collaboration offers from retail businesses and foreign partners.

The Autumn Fair 2025 is therefore not only a stage for handicraft art but also an economic springboard for the traditional craft villages of the capital. Each exhibition, each ordered product is a small but sure step in the journey of bringing the essence of Hanoi to the world.

With its attractive performances, experiences, and trade opportunities, "The Quintessence of Hanoi Autumn" is asserting its role as a highlight of the 2025 Autumn Fair. Stable visitor numbers, positive order signals, and the meticulous preparation of artisans demonstrate the significant potential of Hanoi's handicrafts in both the domestic and export markets.
