Nearly 1,500 people, 24 groups marched at the Thanh Oai Commune Sports Festival

This is a particularly important event, held for the first time since the Thanh Oai commune's two-level administration officially began operating, marking a new beginning in the journey of building a "prosperous, beautiful, civilized, and happy" homeland.

With the theme "Healthy to build a career and defend the country" and the spirit of "Unity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress," the opening ceremony of the 1st Thanh Oai Commune Sports Festival in 2025 featured a parade showcasing the strength of the participants – one of the most solemn rituals.

Each parade contingent represents a different color, a symbol of the unity, youthfulness, and pride of the people of Thanh Oai commune, aiming to build a civilized, prosperous, and healthy homeland. These contingents include: the ceremonial team carrying the national flag – the red flag with a yellow star; the armed forces of Thanh Oai commune – police, local security, and military; the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations; officials, civil servants, and workers; schools; healthcare; the craft village contingent; and representatives from villages and residential areas…

Next, athlete Le Dang Duc Viet, gold medalist at the 31st SEA Games, had the honor of carrying the torch to the ceremonial platform, handing the sacred flame to Bui Hoang Phan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of the commune, to light the ceremonial flame of the Congress.

Opening the Congress, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Oai commune and Head of the Organizing Committee, Nguyen Hong Hai, emphasized: The first Thanh Oai Commune Sports Congress is a political, cultural, and sporting event of special significance – a grand festival for the entire community. This is not only an opportunity to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship and physical training, but also a vivid testament to the strength of unity, faith, and aspirations of the Party Committee, government, and people of Thanh Oai in the new development phase.

In recent times, in response to the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh," the sports and physical education movement in Thanh Oai has developed strongly, attracting a large number of officials, Party members, association members, union members, and people of all ages to participate.

This year's congress saw the participation of nearly 1,500 people, 24 marching contingents showcasing their strength, spectacular performances of drum ensembles, lion and dragon dances, health-promoting exercises, and many diverse sports competitions. This was not only a cultural and sporting event but also a political and cultural event of profound significance, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition, spreading the spirit of sportsmanship, and contributing to the holistic development of the people of Thanh Oai: physically healthy, mentally strong, morally upright, united in action, and determined to lead the commune to increasingly strong development.

Following the ceremony, the festival, themed "Thanh Oai's Aspiration for Greater Heights," took place, featuring performances by nearly 400 members and performers, attracting the attention and enthusiastic applause of the audience.

The first Thanh Oai Commune Sports Festival in 2025 is a milestone reflecting the spirit of solidarity and community strength, and a turning point for the locality. It affirms the attention of all levels and sectors to the mass sports movement, contributing to improving the cultural, spiritual, and health lives of the local people.
