Nghe An: Nearly 90 artists trained in Vi and Giam folk songs

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of the Provincial Traditional Arts Center and students from Vi and Giam Folk Song Clubs in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the teaching class, Meritorious Artist Ta Hong Duong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Traditional Arts Center stated: Implementing the National Action Program on protecting and promoting the value of Nghe Tinh folk song heritage, every year, the Nghe An Traditional Arts Center organizes training classes, fosters and teaches folk songs to artisans, teachers, students and grassroots cultural officials, contributing to preserving, promoting and spreading the value of heritage in contemporary life.

Continuing that tradition, the Center organized the Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Club Training Class in 2025. The class gathered nearly 90 students, who are artisans and core members of 35 Vi and Giam Folk Song Clubs across the province.

During the 5-day training, trainees will be exposed to in-depth and practical content: Updating knowledge on organizing and operating clubs in the new context; improving practical skills, composing, staging and performing folk songs; acquiring teaching methods and replicating the folk song movement associated with cultural education , tourism and community life...

The training course is not only a professional course, but also a journey to enrich knowledge and arouse a sense of cultural responsibility.

Each artist and each student returning to their locality will be a "living cultural nucleus", continuing to lead, connect and spread folk songs in the community, contributing to making Vi and Giam increasingly closer, attractive and full of vitality in contemporary life.

After this training course, each student will return with a new vision, new energy, continuing to be a creator, a practitioner and a teacher, so that the sound of the Giam will forever resonate in the beloved land of Nghe An.

The training course is scheduled to take place from October 24 to 28, 2025.
