Attending the program were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An, the Provincial Buddhist Sangha, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance of Nghe An province, along with local government leaders and a large number of people.

Chau Thang Lake has a water surface area of 8.4 km², is a large reservoir of Que Phong commune, plays an important role in regulating water resources, serving agricultural production, daily life and developing inland aquaculture. This fish release includes 2,353 kg of fish fry with key species such as grass carp, bighead carp, common carp, silver carp, bighead carp and tilapia, all of which are adaptable, fast growing, and have high economic value. Fish fry are strictly quarantined, ensuring quality before being released into the natural environment.
According to the representative of the functional sector, releasing fish fry not only contributes to supplementing the declining aquatic resources due to the impact of climate change, environmental pollution and overexploitation, but also helps restore biodiversity, regenerate the natural food chain, and improve water quality through the biological filtration process of fish species.

Speaking at the program, comrade Tran Xuan Hoc - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized: “Protecting and regenerating aquatic resources is an important task, associated with the goal of preserving the aquatic environment and restoring the natural ecosystem. Today's fish release activity is a practical step to supplement the source of breeds, creating conditions for aquatic species to grow and develop again. I request the authorities and people of Que Phong commune to continue to coordinate closely in management and supervision, not to overfish, and strictly comply with legal regulations to protect aquatic resources in a sustainable manner.”

At the program, people were also informed about the role of each fish species in balancing the ecosystem, the long-term economic benefits of protecting and developing aquatic resources, and committed to not fishing while the fish were not yet mature.

The release of more than 2.3 tons of fish fry at Chau Thang Lake is considered an important step in implementing the sustainable aquaculture development strategy of Nghe An province, contributing to realizing the goal of green growth, protecting natural resources and improving the quality of life of people in mountainous areas.
