Cua Lo welcomes 4.76 million tourists

Tourism activities in Cua Lo in 2025 took place in a difficult context but achieved remarkable results.

On the morning of October 24, the People's Committee of Cua Lo ward held a conference to summarize tourism activities in 2025 and deploy tasks in 2026.

In 2025, tourism activities in Cua Lo took place in a context of many difficulties and challenges from the unstable world economic situation, the merger of administrative units and extreme weather such as storms, floods, and natural disasters. However, with the close attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Nghe An province and all levels, along with the proactive and drastic management of the local government, Cua Lo tourism has made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved remarkable results.

Despite many negative impacts, the total number of tourists to Cua Lo in 2025 is estimated at 4.76 million, equal to 95% over the same period and reaching 81% of the yearly plan. Of which, the number of overnight guests is estimated at 1.685 million. Total revenue from service and tourism activities is estimated at 4,935 billion VND, equal to 96% over the same period, reaching 82% of the yearly plan.

To achieve the above results, the leadership, direction and management work has been carried out in a synchronous and consistent manner. The People's Committee of Vinh City (old) and the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward have issued many important documents, implementing specific plans such as: Organizing the Festival and Cua Lo Sea Tourism Year; Organizing the Launching Ceremony for a green, clean and beautiful Cua Lo Sea; Establishing inspection teams and interdisciplinary inspection teams to improve urban areas, tourism order and handle violations; Deploying warning, rescue, search and rescue work for beach-going tourists...

Regarding urban beautification and environmental sanitation, Cua Lo has planned, upgraded, and renovated the park area, decorative electrical system, and lighting system at Binh Minh Square. It has completely cleared out more than 100 spontaneous business households and dismantled items encroaching on traffic safety corridors. In particular, after storms No. 5 and No. 10, the locality has proactively and synchronously deployed measures to overcome the damage.

To ensure the safety of tourists, the ward has developed a plan to ensure security and order, and rescue has been strengthened. In the first 10 months of the year, 438 people were searched and assisted.

In addition to the achieved results, Cua Lo tourism in 2025 still has some shortcomings that need to be overcome, mainly due to limited investment resources, unsynchronized infrastructure, and the impact of natural disasters; Many tourist accommodation facilities are degraded; There is still the phenomenon of managing 4-wheel electric vehicles, street vendors, and soliciting customers; Environmental sanitation work is sometimes and in some places not guaranteed; The quality of labor resources serving tourism is still limited...

2026 is identified as the starting year of a new cycle, a new term, with the determination to create momentum for Cua Lo tourism to recover and develop sustainably. Accordingly, the goal is to welcome 5.2 million tourists, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2025; Achieve 5,360 billion VND in revenue, an increase of 8.6% compared to 2025. With that goal, the conference has set out specific key tasks.

The conference listened to many quality presentations to share experiences, recommendations, proposals, and suggestions to build Cua Lo ward tourism to become more and more developed and professional. Contents related to new tourism models, upgrading infrastructure, ensuring security, digitalizing tourism, etc. received many enthusiastic and feasible opinions.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Cua Lo Ward Party Committee frankly acknowledged the limitations of Cua Lo tourism in 2025 due to the policy mechanism, management system... Placing expectations on the enthusiasm of relevant individuals and units, he said that to restore Cua Lo tourism, there needs to be cooperation and solidarity of the government, businesses and people, and to avoid banning what cannot be managed. With the goal of making Cua Lo a tourism growth pole, each person needs to be a tourism ambassador, working together to build the Cua Lo tourism brand. At the same time, innovating propaganda, promoting digitalization, proactively focusing on embellishment...

Thanking the attention of the provincial leaders, agencies, departments and related units, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Cua Lo Ward believes that Cua Lo will have many changes in 2026. At the same time, he pledged that Cua Lo will seize new opportunities and new policies and consider them as resources to return to the tourism race with new momentum.
