Me Linh commune sports festival organizes 10 competitions

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Me Linh Commune Tran Thanh Hoai affirmed that the first Sports Congress was held in the context that the whole commune was implementing a 2-level local government model according to the policy of Hanoi city.

This is a new development stage, when the commune level is given more authority, resources and conditions to directly care for people's lives, including the core task of developing culture, physical education and sports, and improving community health.

The Congress is a cultural and sports festival of important political significance, demonstrating the spirit of "All people exercising following the example of great Uncle Ho", aiming at the goal of "Being healthy to build and protect the Fatherland". At the same time, this is an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of solidarity, will and healthy sportsmanship of the Party Committee, government and people of Me Linh commune - the homeland of the heroic Hai Ba Trung.

In recent times, the mass sports movement in the commune has developed strongly, spreading widely in all 20 villages, agencies and units. Sports clubs maintain vibrant activities, attracting a large number of people to participate, contributing to improving health, promoting community cohesion, and building a progressive cultural life.

This congress has the participation of more than 1,500 athletes competing in 10 events, such as: Football, volleyball, badminton, chess, martial arts, athletics... The congress is not only a place to demonstrate strength, but also an opportunity to check and evaluate the quality of the grassroots sports movement, and at the same time select typical athletes to represent the commune to participate in the city-level sports congress in the coming time.

The leaders of Me Linh commune emphasized that improving people's health is a decisive factor in building a strong human resource in the new period. In the coming time, the commune will continue to invest in cultural institutions, grassroots sports facilities, consolidate the mass sports network, and expand the socialization of physical training and sports activities. Along with that, Me Linh will promote propaganda and mobilize all people to regularly practice physical training and sports, creating positive changes in civilized lifestyles and improving the quality of life.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the official competitions took place enthusiastically, attracting a large number of people to cheer, creating an exciting atmosphere right from the first days of the congress organization. The congress will take place from October 26 to 30, 2025 and is expected to close with an award ceremony for groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.
