According to leaked images on social networks, it can be seen that just looking at the front and rear of the car, it is difficult to distinguish between the new Kia Sportage 2025 long and short wheelbase versions, because both carry Kia's new design language with many similar details. However, when observed from the side, the difference becomes obvious.

The short-wheelbase 2025 Kia Sportage has a significantly more compact body, along with a redesigned side window design that eliminates the rear glass pane behind the C-pillar, the most recognizable feature. Kia has not yet announced the specific specifications of the short-wheelbase Sportage. However, many sources predict that this model will be close in length to its "younger brother" Kia Seltos.

If priced lower than the long-wheelbase version, the short Sportage could potentially “conquer” the same segment, even competing directly with the Seltos itself in some markets. Kia Sportage in Vietnam is currently distributed in the long-wheelbase form.

The mid-life upgrade of the car is still not available and the possibility of the short-wheelbase version being imported into the country is very low due to the different product orientation compared to markets such as Europe. The upgraded Kia Sportage scores strongly in exterior design, featuring a cluster of lights called Starmap, inspired by the design language of the Kia EV9 electric car line.

This is not only an aesthetic detail but also improves lighting efficiency thanks to patterns inspired by constellations. The cabin of the 2026 Sportage is also refreshed with a large dual-screen cluster, a more modern and intuitive interface, inspired by new electric car models such as the EV9 or EV3.

The control interface seamlessly integrates navigation, entertainment and vehicle settings to enhance the user experience. In terms of operation, the new Sportage switches to an 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the old 7-speed dual-clutch.

In addition, the car is also equipped with a hybrid powertrain with a 1.6L gasoline engine, emphasizing fuel economy and environmentally friendly operation, which are increasingly of interest in the context of rising fuel prices and the trend of "greening" the automobile industry.
