Inspect and survey the construction site of a primary and secondary boarding school in a border commune

(sonla.gov.vn) On July 30, 2025, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation inspected and surveyed the construction site of a primary and secondary boarding school in Muong Leo, Muong Lan, and Sop Cop communes. Accompanying him were Comrade Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and branches.

Pursuant to Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes, through review, Son La province has 13 border communes, with about 35,868 students studying at 44 primary, secondary, and high schools. According to the assessment, in border communes there are no boarding schools, many boarding schools do not meet the learning needs well. Therefore, investing in building inter-level boarding schools is an urgent requirement.

Investing in the construction of inter-level boarding schools is considered an urgent requirement, contributing to ensuring fairness in access to education , improving the quality of teaching and learning, gradually reducing the dropout rate, creating favorable conditions for ethnic minority children in border areas to study and develop comprehensively.

After directly surveying the current status of facilities and land conditions at the proposed locations for school construction, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to coordinate with the communes to urgently complete the dossier and specific investment plan. In particular, it is necessary to focus on selecting suitable locations in terms of terrain and traffic, ensuring convenience in construction and long-term operation. At the same time, it is required to carefully calculate the scale of schools, auxiliary infrastructure, meeting the conditions for organizing learning, boarding and semi-boarding activities for students.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Nam Lanh Border Guard Station.

He emphasized: Investing in building inter-level boarding schools in border communes not only contributes to improving the quality of education in disadvantaged areas, but is also a strategic solution associated with stabilizing the population and maintaining national defense and security in border areas.
