Inspecting the implementation of tourism development projects in Bu Dang.

BPO - On the morning of December 3rd, the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Binh Phuoc province, led by Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vu Thanh Ngu, conducted an inspection of the results of tourism development projects and the dissemination, guidance, and inspection of tourist areas and attractions in Bu Dang district.

Bu Dang district holds a strategically important position connecting Binh Phuoc province and the southeastern provinces with the Central Highlands. The district possesses many advantages in terms of scenic spots, historical sites, and cultural heritage for tourism development. Two key attractions that draw large numbers of tourists are the S'tieng ethnic cultural conservation area in Bom Bo hamlet and the Bu Lach ecological tourism area combined with a golf course.

Members of the working group and leaders of agencies and departments of the district exchanged and discussed at the meeting.

In implementing the tourism development plan, Bu Dang district has focused on investing in infrastructure development, maintaining, preserving, and restoring historical sites and conservation areas. In addition, the district has proactively invested in developing distinctive tourism products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products as souvenirs, such as rice wine, bamboo-cooked rice, brocade fabrics, rice, and various types of cashew nuts. However, current difficulties include the fact that potential tourism development sites are all located within bauxite mining areas; and the socialization of investment in guesthouses and food services for tourists remains limited.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Dang District, Nguyen Van Luu, further clarified some advantages and disadvantages in developing tourism in the district.

Concluding the working session, Head of the inspection team Vu Thanh Ngu emphasized: Bu Dang has potential and strengths for tourism development, therefore the district needs to consider planning for tourism development; at the same time, coordinate with provincial departments and agencies to advise and propose mechanisms and policies to attract investment and focus on strengthening the preservation and protection of the landscape and environment.
