Mo So Mountain seen from above.
Accordingly, the planning scale is about 136.11 hectares in Bai Voi mountain range (Ba Nui hamlet) adjacent to Kien Luong town, Binh Tri commune and Binh An commune (Kien Luong).
The entire planning area consists of 7 functional zones. Of which, the zone for protecting and preserving relics includes: Mo So Mountain revolutionary relic conservation area with an area of 36.36ha; landscape ecological conservation area with an area of 20.61ha; heritage exhibition and information area with an area of 17.2ha; landscape, ecological and environmental restoration area with an area of 13.48ha.
Zoning area to promote the value of the relic, including: mixed service area, area of 28.68ha; residential and resettlement area, community tourism area with area of 8ha and reception area, traffic management, infrastructure and common use works with area of 11.08ha.
According to the People's Committee of Kien Giang province, Mo So mountain is a mixed heritage area, including revolutionary historical relics with great historical value in the two resistance wars against France and the US; famous scenic spots with landscapes and modern context; ecological heritage (mangrove forests and limestone mountain ecology); special geological, geomorphological and cave heritage; residential heritage, long-standing residence of local people.
Therefore, the above master plan aims to preserve and restore the relic site and enhance the value of natural, cultural and historical resources in the region; create a legal framework for implementing component projects, developing heritage economy and tourism to bring practical benefits to the locality.
Mo So Mountain Historical Relic and Scenic Area is identified as protection area I with an area of 24.9 hectares (Mo So Mountain 14.3 hectares and mangrove swamp area 10.6 hectares).
Planning implementation period from 2024 to 2030.
