Timely control of factory fire in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Force of Hanoi City Police promptly controlled and prevented the fire from spreading in a factory fire that occurred in Tay Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district on the afternoon of May 13.

Fire Prevention and Rescue Police deployed to contain the fire; mobilized excavators to demolish structures and prevent fire from spreading.

At about 4:56 p.m. the same day, Call Center 114, City Police Command Information Center received a fire alarm at factory area number 860 Phuc Dien, Tay Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district.

Immediately upon receiving the information and assessing the complicated fire situation with the possibility of spreading to neighboring factories, the City Police Command Information Center urgently mobilized 70 officers and soldiers of the City Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Department with 2 command vehicles, 10 fire trucks, 1 rescue vehicle, 1 truck carrying specialized vehicles, and 1 water tanker to the scene.

At the scene, the authorities determined that the fire was complicated, with many flammable materials, generating a lot of toxic smoke and gas, spreading quickly and potentially spreading to neighboring warehouses, making it difficult to access and extinguish the fire.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force urgently exploited water sources, deployed firefighting teams to prevent the fire from spreading, and approached the large fire area to extinguish the fire.

After a period of firefighting efforts, at 5:40 p.m. the fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading. At around 7 p.m., the fire was extinguished. Thereby, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force promptly prevented the fire from spreading and protected the safety of many surrounding warehouses.

The fire did not cause any human casualties, property damage is being assessed, and the cause is being investigated by authorities.
