(GLO)- On Chu Glap mountain (Ring village, Hbong commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province), there are many strange rocks stacked on top of each other naturally. Among these, the most prominent is the Glap stone statue.
Chu Glap Mountain is about 5 km southwest of the Hbong Commune People's Committee headquarters. To reach this mountain, from Ring village, we followed a winding, rocky trail and the local people's fields. After about 15 minutes by motorbike, the tall, towering rocks on the top of the mountain appeared before our eyes.

On the way, Village Chief Ksor Tuy said: Previously, Ring villagers lived near the Ayun Ha lake area. In 1993, implementing the Party and State's policy, the villagers relocated to live near the Chu Glap mountain area. Here, the villagers discovered many strange giant rocks on the mountain top. Among them, there was a rock with many rocks stacked on top of each other, tens of meters high.
According to our observations, the pile of rocks is about 30 m high, about 20 m in diameter, with 7 rocks stacked on top of each other. Of which, the base of this rock has the largest diameter, the remaining rocks are stacked on top of each other like a tower.
“This stone has been there for a long time. From 6 to 7 am, if you stand from Ia Ake commune (Phu Thien district) and look towards Chu Glap mountain, you can still clearly see the stone piled on top of the mountain. During the resistance war against French colonialism, the Chu Glap mountain area was a shelter for guerrilla forces,” said Mr. Tuy.
Chu Glap Mountain is not only impressive for its unique shape but also contains many mysterious and sacred stories. Mr. Rmah Plim (Ring village) said: When he was young, he was told by the elders in the village that this rock was created by a giant couple.
After creating, they made a button on the stone, people often told each other that if they come here to pray, they will have good luck in life. However, to receive these wishes, the governing gods stipulated that hunting wild animals living in the surrounding area is not allowed.

“I heard the elders in the village say that: In the past, while going up the mountain to set animal traps, the villagers saw a very large snake wrapped around a rock, so they were scared and ran away. Since then, every time the villagers set traps in this place, they did not catch any squirrels or mice.
In the past, Chu Glap mountain was very wild, with many wild animals and ancient trees. But later, because many forest trees were cut down, people took the land for agricultural production around, so few people knew about the mysterious stories" - Mr. Plim shared.
Standing on the top of Chu Glap Mountain, we looked out over the majestic natural scenery of the mountains and forests, enjoying the cool air amidst the vast green of the trees. The most beautiful time is at dusk, when the rays of sunlight shine down on the forest and gradually disappear behind the mountain range, creating a poetic natural scene like a painting.
Mr. Siu Vong - Vice Chairman of Hbong Commune People's Committee - informed: Chu Glap Mountain has many large rocks, of which the most beautiful is the stacked rock. Currently, the road to this area is still difficult, the local government hopes that agencies, departments, and businesses will invest in building roads to the mountain area to attract tourists to visit and experience.
