Disciplinary action against Head of Testing and Quality Control Department in Thanh Hoa

TPO - On the afternoon of March 21, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Deputy Director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, said that a decision had been made to discipline the Head of the Department of Examination and Quality Control with a reprimand.

In a quick exchange with Tien Phong newspaper reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, confirmed that the Department has just issued a disciplinary decision in the form of a reprimand against Mr. Hoang Manh Thang, Head of the Examination and Quality Control Department (under the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province) due to violations in the enrollment work.

Previously, through review , in the 2022-2023 school year, Thanh Hoa Province's Ethnic Boarding High School enrolled 181 students. However, only 28 students were recruited correctly, while the remaining 153 students were not . The amount of money spent on the above students was 2.725 billion VND. At Ngoc Lac Ethnic Boarding High School, the number of students recruited incorrectly was 120 students, with the amount of money violated being 2.146 billion VND.

The reason for the wrong enrollment is that many villages and hamlets in mountainous districts of Thanh Hoa province have been removed from the extremely difficult areas, but schools still enroll students from areas that have been removed from the list.

In addition, according to the reports of the two schools, in the admission instructions of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, there is an unclear section on the admission objects. When checking the list of candidates, although it was clearly stated in the notes section that the students are in the priority category such as: Ethnic minorities, ethnic minorities in particularly difficult areas, Kinh ethnic group in area 135, the school did not receive feedback from the Department about the incorrect objects. When reviewing the admission list, the school also did not receive feedback from the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province about the incorrect objects and the department approved the admission list for the school...

All students who were incorrectly admitted to the 2022-2023 school year at the two schools have stopped receiving subsidies since January 2025.

It is known that nearly 5 billion VND was wrongly granted to hundreds of students of the above 2 schools. The Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province requested the Admissions Council to take responsibility for correcting the problem.
