On the side of Quang Nam province, there were alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
Also attending the program were representatives of Military Region V leaders, former leaders of ministries, branches, generals who are native children and provincial leaders through the periods, relatives of Mother Thu and many local people.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung said that after two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Quang Nam was a land that had to confront invaders early on, suffering many sacrifices and enormous losses.
Many children of Quang Nam in particular, and the heroic Vietnamese people in general, have had to shed sweat, tears and even blood. These are the low notes in the heroic epic of the entire nation.
After 30 years of fighting for independence, Quang Nam is the locality that has suffered the most pain and loss in the country, with more than 65 thousand martyrs; nearly 31 thousand wounded and sick soldiers; more than 6 thousand people participating in the resistance war infected with toxic chemicals; nearly 12 thousand people participating in the revolution and resistance war were imprisoned by the enemy... The whole province currently has 15,360 mothers who have been awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother; of which, 294 mothers are still alive.
Heroic mother Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1904) in Dien Thang commune, Dien Ban had 9 sons, 1 son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren who died.

During those two arduous and long resistance wars, the mother of Quang Nam sent her husband, children and grandchildren off to fulfill their sacred duty for the country, "determined to die for the Fatherland" and then "Nine incense bowls, nine pieces of broken intestines. Nine of her children left and not one returned".
Mother Thu is the embodiment of the heroic Vietnamese Mother of a heroic nation. Her name has been engraved in the history books not only of Quang Nam, but also of the entire nation, the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers of Vietnam. The image of Mother, full of sorrow but extremely brave and resilient, has been sketched and carved into the immortal monument "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" for future generations.

"The war has long gone, but the wounds of the mothers whose husbands and sons sacrificed for the cause of national liberation are still there; the stories of their lives and their immense sacrifices will live forever, becoming sparkling and shining legends. With the feelings and gratitude of the next generation, we vow to do everything we can to be worthy of the souls of the heroic Vietnamese mothers and martyrs who sacrificed their lives; no matter how challenging or difficult, we are determined to build and develop Quang Nam to become more and more beautiful and civilized" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung said.

At the celebration, the art program "Mother's legend - immortal monument" includes 3 chapters: thousand years of white clouds, mother's legend, immortal monument.
On this occasion, the provincial leaders presented gifts of gratitude to Mr. Le Tu Than (Mrs. Thu's son) and People's Armed Forces Hero Truong Van Hoa.
