To raise awareness and capacity on gender equality (GEA) in ethnic minority communities, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has implemented 4 training courses from May 20 to 23, under the Project "Supporting GEA activities in ethnic minority areas of Bac Lieu province" in 2025.

The training courses focus on fostering knowledge and professional skills in propaganda and legaleducation on gender equality; disseminating relevant legal documents, along with thoroughly understanding new contents of gender equality policy programs and projects in the province.
A total of 400 trainees, who are not paid by the state budget, participated, including part-time commune officials, grassroots mediators, hamlet and village heads, children's collaborators, hamlet women's associations in charge of gender equality work, prestigious people, and a large number of ethnic minorities in districts, towns, and cities.
Training locations include: Long Dien commune (Dong Hai district), Ward 1 (Gia Rai town), Ninh Thanh Loi commune and Ngan Dua town (Hong Dan district).
The main objective of the training series is to improve the capacity of organizing and implementing policies and laws on gender equality for cadres working on ethnic affairs in the locality. At the same time, the classes also aim to promote the role of prestigious people in ethnic minority areas, encouraging them to actively propagate, disseminate, educate and mobilize people to implement gender equality, as well as to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws related to gender equality and the advancement of ethnic minority women in the province.
In addition to training activities, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has also coordinated with Bac Lieu Newspaper and Radio and Television Station to produce a report on raising awareness of gender equality among ethnic minorities.
Bac Lieu province sets the target: 100% of cadres and civil servants working on ethnic affairs in the locality, 50% of cadres working on gender equality at district and commune levels, and prestigious people, heads of ethnic minority hamlets and villages are disseminated with laws on gender equality, along with training, knowledge improvement, and capacity building in organizing and implementing policies and laws on gender equality.
Strive for 90% of ethnic minority households to have access to information on gender and laws on gender equality.
