Opening of the 3rd Vietnam International Photography Festival 2025

The 3rd Vietnam International Photography Festival was held in Hue City from May 23 to 29. This is a very meaningful activity in the series of events of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, contributing to widely promoting the image of the country, people of Vietnam in general and Hue city in particular to international friends.

This year’s Festival will feature 30 outstanding photographers from across the country and internationally. Among them, there are 5 international artists from India, Japan, Singapore and Laos; 15 photographers from all over the country and 10 artists from Hue City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Tuan Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, said that the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 with many typical cultural - economic - social events, on a national and international scale, contributes to raising awareness of all levels, sectors and people about sustainable tourism development.

At the same time, through that, introduce and promote the tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of the people, the country of Vietnam in general and the land of Hue in particular to attract domestic and international tourists to Vietnam and Hue City. Create a breakthrough development in tourism, contributing to socio-economic development in the following years.

With this photo exchange and creation activity in Hue City, the Organizing Committee hopes to use the art of photography to record and reflect the beauty of people, culture, landscapes, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland of Hue City.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, this Festival promises to be a unique space for artistic creation with many diverse activities: exchanges, compositions, exhibitions... Through that, artists will have more inspiration to create authentic and artistic photographic works about Hue - a heritage city, a Festival city, a creative city, gradually reaching out to the world.

"We believe that the works created on this occasion will be a valuable source of information, contributing to enriching the treasure trove of images of Hue, effectively serving the propaganda and promotion of the city's culture and tourism in the present and future.

In particular, outstanding works will be selected, awarded and displayed in the 3rd "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers" exhibition, scheduled to be held in Hue City in September 2025. This will be an important highlight, a unique artistic and cultural diplomatic mark in the series of events of the National Tourism Year," said Mr. Phan Thanh Hai.

At the opening ceremony, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue City also pledged to maximize the results achieved from this International Photography Festival, to continue spreading the beauty and value of Hue to the domestic and international communities./.
