Opening of the 3rd Vietnam International Photography Festival - Hue 2025

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of September 10, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Hue City to organize the opening ceremony of the third Vietnam International Photography Festival in 2025. This is an international photography event, held every two years, to build a brand for Vietnamese photography, while contributing to promoting the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to international friends.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Pham Thi My Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, leaders of city departments and branches, and many domestic and foreign photography artists.

This year's Festival has 6,076 works by 415 authors, including many artists from 16 countries and territories such as India, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Korea, Japan, USA, UK, Australia...

Within the framework of the Festival, many special activities took place such as photo exchanges and compositions in Hue with the participation of 30 domestic and foreign photographers; photo exhibitions with the themes "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers" and "Hue - Ancient capital, new opportunities". The Organizing Committee selected to display 200 excellent works from 133 authors, of which 20 typical works were awarded official prizes.

This year's list of joint awards includes many impressive works, such as "The Attraction of Phu Quoc" (Le Tuan Anh - Vietnam), "Tam Coc in the Water Lily Season" (Mai Thanh Chuong - Vietnam), "Huong River Festival at Dien Hue Nam" (Le Dinh Hoang - Vietnam), or "Releasing Lanterns at Sunset" (Gunaratne Madugodaralalage Thejapriya Bandu - Sri Lanka), "Hue Festival" (Nguyen Hai - USA)...

The exhibition takes place from September 10 to September 20 at the Hue Museum of Fine Arts (No. 17 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City).
