Every year, when Tet comes, Mr. Nguyen Van Truyen's bougainvillea garden (Long Tuyen ward, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city) is in full bloom.
Mr. Truyen has been growing bougainvillea for more than 10 years, with more than 20 varieties of flowers creating brilliant colors, attracting many people to visit and choose.
The majority of flowers in Mr. Truyen's garden are five-color Thai bougainvillea, grafted from 3 to 6 colors on each tree, some trees have up to 7 colors.
This type usually costs from 3,000,000 - 8,000,000 VND/tree depending on size. There are also trees that cost up to tens of millions of VND.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nam (Can Tho City) said: "Every year, after the full moon of December, I come here to find more unique bougainvillea varieties to play during Tet. There are many flowers to choose from here, and this type of bougainvillea is also easy to care for. Having flowers in the house on a spring day adds a bit of brilliance."
In addition to Mr. Truyen's garden, it was noted that on the streets in the center of Ninh Kieu district, gardeners and traders have begun bringing flowers to the streets to serve the Tet market.
In the Ninh Kieu wharf area, there are a lot of apricot flowers, ornamental plants... Among these, there is still no shortage of colorful bougainvillea, making the streets more vibrant.
The most prominent is the snow purple bougainvillea variety, which belongs to the small-leafed bougainvillea family with a unique light purple color. This type is often grown in gardens, balconies or to decorate gates, creating a fresh look for Tet holidays.
A flower gardener at Ninh Kieu flower market said: “I have been setting up my flower shop here since last week, but there are few buyers. We hope to have more customers in the coming days.”
