The separate financial report for 2024 of Vietnam Education Publishing House Company Limited recorded revenue last year reaching VND3,190 billion, an increase of nearly 12% over the same period.

After deducting cost of goods sold, this publisher had a gross profit of more than 759 billion VND, lower but not significantly compared to 2023.

Most expenses tend to be reduced. Of which, interest expense is only over 16.3 billion VND, down 60%. Selling expenses decreased from 215 billion VND in 2023 to 152 billion VND last year.

Business management costs alone increased slightly, but not much.

As a result, pre-tax profit of Vietnam Education Publishing House reached more than 384 billion VND, an increase of nearly 12% and became the highest level ever.

The report also said that by the end of 2024, Vietnam Education Publishing House had total assets of more than VND 1,601 billion, an increase of more than 24% after one year.

Vietnam Education Publishing House was established in 1957 and currently operates as a one-member limited liability company.

On the website, this unit introduces itself as the largest publishing house in the country with nearly 40 member companies and contributed capital, publishing thousands of educational books each year and producing diverse teaching equipment and supplies for schools.

Regarding the 2024 business results, in the latest announcement, a representative of Vietnam Education Publishing House affirmed that although it is a state-owned enterprise, this unit operates equally, "without any monopoly advantage".

This unit also said that in the two years 2023 - 2024, through optimization and cost reduction, the two textbook sets of Vietnam Education Publishing House will be used the most due to the lowest price and best quality.

Since 2017, the State's policy has opened up allowing many publishers to participate in the field of textbook publishing.

To date, 7 publishers have been licensed to publish textbooks and in fact, many publishers and businesses have been publishing textbooks to serve the 2018 General Education Program. This clearly shows that the textbook market has had healthy, open and transparent competition, according to a representative of the Vietnam Education Publishing House.
